Still room for improvement . I bought this set because of the larger variety of lid colors and for this reason alone they trump the Melissa & Doug (M&D) containers. What they lack though, is the gripping area of the inner ring that is available on the M&D product. As a result, sometimes the inner ring is also pulled off in an attempt to remove the lid. I also found it necessary to pull off some excess plastic around the lip of the container (production issue) so that the lid could click to a snug fit. These latter two points can be a bit frustrating!

Great for little ones . These paint cups are perfect for my little ones. As long as the bottle isn't too full, the paint won't spill if tipped over. Clean up is easy too, you just have to put the cap on, which is easy enough for the kids to do. I had some cups before these that had a sliding door or sorts on the top and it always crusted over, making them hard to open later. These are easy to open and easy to use.

Wonderful paint cups! . These paint cups are great! We've had them for about 7 months now and we've not hd any spills! My son uses them on his Melissa and Doug wooden easel and they fit perfectly. Be careful not to fill them real full or there will be paint on the handle of the paint brush. The crayola kid's paint (10pk) works nicely with these - the amount of paint in the crayola set fills these paint cups to about the bottom line which ends up being the perfect amount. We've yet to refill them too! I definitely recommend these!
Great for the little Artist . Love the paint cups, the paint doesn't spill and I actually store them w/ paint in them so it's easy to pull them out when my little one wants to be creative. However, several of the lids were cracked when received.
Big cups hold lots and keep paint fresh . Not much more I can say ... these are simply great cups ... much larger than I expected. You pour the paints in once and then they're ready to access whenever you want. My daughter and I recommend!
Excellent item to have for young kids . I love these, a must for a family with small kids. Fit nicely in our easel tray.
Good . I was concerned after reading the reviews, but this was in my price range at the time. I have only used it for water so far, but I have been very pleased. I have not had any spills. In my own "test" I did find that if I turned the cup completely upside down a few drops came out. I would imagine Melissa and Doug are better quality, as that is an excellent brand. However, the price difference is big. Given, the price difference and the good quality these cups have been I think these Chenille Kraft are the better buy.
Definitely not spill proof . The claim that these cups are "no-spill" is false. The lids do not snap in place, as do other cups like Melissa & Doug. I ordered these cups because of the great color assortment, but I have since gotten rid of them. The lids easily come off, which allows for both messes and dried paint. It fails to serve its intended purpose.
Cons Review
Ill fitting lids; not spill proof . I have had these paint cups for several months. You get a lot of paint cups for your money, but the lids don't fit will on the cups. Each cup has top and bottom lid. The bottom lid is the spill proof part while the top lid provides a supposedly air tight seal. These cups are poorly manufactured; the fit of the lids was hit or miss or the 10 cups. Some bottom and top lids fit very snuggly, but many were too loose (see my video review). All the lids were paint tight, but most were not water tight, and few were air tight.
For example, my 2 year old dropped a paint cup from about a 10 inch height and the entire lid popped off and paint went every where. So much for spill proof.
Also, after a few weeks the paint (we use Crayola washable tempera paint) became quite thick because the top lids are not air tight.
Pros:
- you get a lot of paint cups for your money
Cons:
- top lids don't fit tightly which means the paint dries out
- poor quality control; some bottom lids are very tight others are rather loose
- not spill proof; bottom lids pop off too easily if cup is knocked over
