Great product! . This is a very well-made easel and the perfect size for my 6 year old. I think it will last many years, even as he grows taller. I was concerned that maybe the deluxe easel would be a better quality, but I don't think it can be any better than this. Great value - no need to buy the expensive version.
Great Educational gift . This is my third easel, I gave two to Grandchildren for Christmas last year. One, soon to be three, uses it to release feelings and emotions. Go...let it all out in colors and drawings. The other was in a situation where the parents moved to a new home in a new town. After the house was set up she went in to see her room and there was her familiar friend, her easel.
I consider this a perfect gift for 3,4,5 or any age.

Artist Easel purchased through Amazon . Great gift for my five year old daughter, however I find my ten and fifteen year old children enjoying it too! Excellent quality and hours of entertainment.
Important info for potential buyers. . I bought this easel for my 3 year old's Christmas gift. It is important to have sturdy items that children can be themselves around. Being a construction foreman for 8 years gave me a clear understanding of how wood joints should be designed in order to withstand damage. Each of the four legs on this easel have a joint in the middle intended to decrease packaging size and costs, which is understandable. Notwithstanding, the way the joints were designed creates the one potentially fatal flaw of the product. A child simply leaning against one of the legs could easily snap the joint, rendering the easel unusable. A bit of handy work could easily solve the problem but this is certainly something the manufacturer could have addressed more thoroughly. If you are not accustomed to fixing your own things then this item will likely be a waste of your time and money as it will end up in a land fill.
Overall a good easel . This easel was purchased for my 2.5yo for Christmas. In the two weeks that we have had it, the easel has seen lots of use. Overall I would say it is a very good easel. Setup was not too bad, with the exception of attaching the legs to the top, which was tricky because the precut holes are tiny. One of the trays came with a small chip, so I called Kidkraft customer service and a new tray was sent out within a week. The kids love the easel and both sides get lots of use. I was worried about the chalkboard side, as people tend to comment that chalkboards on most easels are not very good. But if you prep the chalkboard as described in the directions, it works fine. I also purchased the Crayola whiteboard crayons, which work great on the whiteboard side. (Tip: use a baby wipe to remove them.) I took off one star because the legs are not as strong as I would like for long term use. But this is normal with easels at this price range. I would say $50-60 is a fair price for this easel.Overall a good buy and I would recommend.
Disappointed by the packaging. . I ordered this easel as a Christmas present for my 5 year old son which the mailman left in our front door some days ago. Unfortunately they had shipped it without wrapping, so when we arrived home my son saw it. I was very disappointed not only because of the absence of the packaging but also because the original easel box was very, very ruined, and because I noticed that it may have being used (it has a sticker that says that it comes from Amazon's Return Center). Also, the invoice has printed the name of other person (Mitchell Rhodes) who I think had returned the easel to the store before. I looked online at my order details and when trying to find the link that says "Leave a feedback about the packaging" I never found it so I opted for writing this review and to give only one star to this product. I really don't know if the easel is in a good condition since it hasn't being opened yet. The excuse I gave my son was that Santa sent his present earlier because he is a very good boy and that he should place it next to the Christmas tree while he waits for the rest of his presents. So I expect at least that the easel is in an excellent condition.
