I wanted to do it too!!!! . I bought this for my 11 yr old son, and asked if I could do a page. It was ALL I could do to only do one page, and actually I obsessed over it for a while asking to see his progress, etc--just itching to do another but not wanting to do the book for him (hey, it was fun.) I ended up buying me one (different issue) and one for my 60ish father who doesn't like word find puzzle books or cross word books.

Low-tech fun for a change of pace! . Both my boys -- ages 10 and 12 -- really enjoy wild animals. They also love to draw. These dot-to-dots allow them to have the best of both worlds.

They are challenging but there are solutions in the back of the book which help immensely. Both kids were happily amused for an hour or more working on just one of the designs with over 1400 dots... Frankly, I wouldn't have the patience but they really like it so more power to them. They are thrilled as they are able to complete each puzzle without making any "mistakes" (which isn't easy given that the numbers are very small and some of the puzzles span 2 pages!)

I think these give the kids a great break from video games, watching TV etc and for the cost -- the price of this entertainment can't be beat!

Highly recommend if your kid (or you!) likes dot-to-dots and want a challenge...

Dot to dot fun! . My 6-year-old son launched into this book Christmas day and has not put it down since! It is an engrossing activity with amazing results. The pictures are truly astounding! Great resource for a young mind that wants to try something a little different.

Not just for kids . This is a great time-filler when you are sitting on an airplane and can't turn on your Kindle yet. It is nice change from a crossword or sudoku puzzle.

dot to dot . too much for 8yr old. I bought this and a calmer dot to dot extreme. He really struggled with these huge ones. I made some copies and did them myself and they are involved and time consuming. takes a lot of patience. if you don't like tedious and precise work you won't enjoy this. cool to look at your accomplishment in the end though!

A great challenge!!!!! . I was impressed with the samples of the dot to dot you could download off of Internet. That convinced me that was what I wanted to order. As to durability, it is consumable, so.....However, the paper used in the pages is not flimsy and will stand erasing. Also, to prevent frustration for a child, it can be done in several sittings. In the future, I may order more as gifts.

great book . excellent book. I have always enjoyed dot to dots. hope more come out in this series. Great for kids and adults alike.

So cool! . I got this for my son's 5th birthday, I think--or maybe it was for Christmas shortly thereafter. He's quite an advanced kid but has trouble finding things. That's why I got this--to help him learn to search. It was a bit too much at first (which I expected). But once he got the hang of searching, he loved it!

Worked wonderfully! . Decided to get these as opposed to the more expensive crayola ones....and they did not let me down! We used them to decorate aprons for my daughters 5th birthday (we made individual pizzas for our meal) the aprons ranged in color from a dark blue to yellow and these markers showed up well on all the aprons. There was virtually no mess as well, with girls from 4 to 13 using them we had no problems! Definitely worth the money!

Party Fun . We just used these markers for my daughter's birthday party. 10 girls decorated t-shirts for a fashion show. The markers worked very well and the girls really enjoyed their creations. The colors are bright and the markers easy to use. I haven't washed the t-shirts yet, but expect they will hold up well.

Nice product! . Bought these for kids to decorate their own pillow cases at a pajama party, and they worked great. I have only washed the pillow case twice, but so far the drawings have held up. Nice inexpensive activity for kids. I also just used these at my sister's baby shower for guests to create onsies for the baby, and this project was successful as well.

Love this project plus a tip . TIP: It can be tedious to peel all the tiny backings off the sticky tiles. My 5 year old loves the project, but was quickly discouraged when having to stop and peel every single backing off. (It's hard, they are tiny!) I took some packing tape and taped the back of each block of tiles, essentially making the backing into one big piece. It's MUCH MUCH easier to peel the tiles off one solid backing that peeling each tiny backing off. My son LOVES it now and is looking forward to hanging them in his room when they are done.

A Sticky Good Time . My 6 year old son just loved this gift. It has hundreds of sticky squares (approx. 1/8 inch, maybe smaller) and the child has to put the correct colored sticker onto its assigned numbered square to create a picture. Sort of like a paint-by-number. It can be quite time consuming; he needed Dad's help but that is part of the fun. Motor skills are definately used for this project. It comes with 4 dinosaur pictures that are on a heavy paper/cardboard (similiar to the thickness of a gift box). The colored tiles are textured for a scale effect and some are shiny. Really pretty when put together. I would even consider hanging these on my sons walls in his dinosaur themed room. One drawback is that some of the tiles are similar in color and it can be hard to distinguish the coordinating color with the number. Not a big deal though.

A great project but needs some improvement . I purchased this set for my 5 1/2 year old twin boys who loooove dinosaurs and crafts. We have never done any mosaic work nor have we purchased anything from Orb factory in the past. We were very excited to get to work!

Upon opening the box - a nice sturdy box with a handle-we had 4 different dinosaurs to work on and a bag that contained all of the mosaic tiles. The first thing I noticed is there was absolutely no labeling of the mosaic tile pieces. They were all in one bag and NOT number labeled. Now this may not sound like a big deal; however I found it odd and confusing. Many of the colors were very similiar and it was difficult to discern the differences. The bag contained only a tiny sheet of picture directions and tile size pictures of the actual tiles with the numbers. The pictures of the tiles were slightly off in color as well. To work around this issue, I took out a sticky note pad and made my own number labels and separated the tile squares by color and labeled them myself. They ideally should have been separated at the factory and packaged in individually numbered bags or the tiles could have been on a single sheet backer with the number printed on it.

My second observation was that the dino pictures had the tile numbers printed on each square; however the colors they used at times did not match the mosaic tiles. This became confusing for one of my sons. He would forget about the number matching and start matching the tile with the printed color on the dino picture. Easy to do - no? I really have no idea why orb factory would do this!? We ended up having to take off all of the tiles he had color matched and of course damaged some of them and thus they could no longer be used. That leads me to my next criticism. No extra tiles. Why?? Just about everything for kids has some extra pieces. A few extra tiles in each color would be a vast improvement.

We completed 2 dinosaur pictures thus far and really like the finished product. We are going to hang all 4 when completed, in the playroom. The boys were able to complete the dinosaurs on their own after some initial help described above and they truly enjoyed the project. I also purchased the Christmas set when I ordered this. I have not opened it yet to see if we will have the same problems we encountered with this set. I hope not.

I would still recommend this product; however,at this price point we should not have the issues I mentioned.

a great teaching tool disguised as a craft project . My nearly 4 year old did two of the projects today (there are four in total) nearly all by himself (I started a couple of the tiles at first to show him the process)and loved it. In fact he didn't want to go to sleep, "I want to make dinosaurs all night". Don't let the recommended age range scare you -- if you know your child has the fine motor ability, try it.

great gift . we got this as a gift for a 4 year old boy. He loved it. he was busy making the dinosaur. It worked out very well.

Will keep them busy for hours on a rainy afternoon . My 7 year old and 4 year old enjoyed these tremendously. To assist my four year old, I just labeled each sheet with a post-it of the corresponding number, and he put all of that color sheet on its corresponding number before moving onto the next one.It's not what I'd call educational, but it's great for fine motor skills and doesn't require constant adult supervision or destroy the house, which makes this an excellent gift.The tiles are small, but manageable, and not overly sticky, so they are easy to clean up. Somehow the whole thing is interesting enough that it kept their attention for a good couple of hours in a row, and there was still more to do on another day. There are 4 total sheets in the package which is nice, and 2 kids can easily share and work together on different dinosaurs.We didn't have the problem cited by another reviewer about needing to tape a whole section to avoid little pieces coming off-- it was easy to peel a single tile off a large backing sheet full of tiles.

Dino sticky mosaics . My grandson really enjoyed putting the mosaics on his dinosaur.
We were able to play together and make a great picture.

Great gift for boys who love arts and crafts! . I bought this for my 4 YO nephew for Christmas, he loves arts and crafts and he LOVED this! The little squares were challenging for his little fingers to manage but he did it and didn't get frustrated while working on it. He was able to put them on well and it is more than a onetime project for a 4 Y/O boy. He lives away so this review is coming from my mom (his grand mom) I heard the tiles are really cool because they are shiny have texture...and that it will look really nice hanging on his wall when he is done. Highly recommend, much nicer than many I have seen in stores. Oh and it helps them with numbers and colors so it has an educational piece to it as well.

Super mosaic . My son loved this mosaic. He's five and it's perfect for him. He was so calm and enjoyed every minute of it. Especially showing it off when he was done. Orb Factory does a great job making the pictures look artistic and not at all cheap. Very educational because it helps him reinforce his number memory and helps with his fine motor skills. Worth every penny for some nice, relaxing playtime for the kids.

Great activity! . I bought this for my 5 yr old son. He really enjoyed it. It was a fun activity for the two of us to work on together.

Not too bad. . My 7 year old loves the original Etch A Sketch, so this seemed a logical choice as a Christmas present. He really did enjoy it. You can make better sketches and curves etc. It's already been dropped and drooled and chewed on by our 16 month old, so it's fairly durable so far. The knob seems a bit hard to push, but hopefully will loosen up with use. For some reason, the screen is less than half the size of a regular Etch a Sketch. While it's not the most popular toy this Christmas, he has played with it, and it's a middle of the road price. I'd still take the original over this, but this might make a nice birthday gift for a 4 -9 year old.

Ohio Art Etch A Sketch Free Style Reviews
Much better than the old Etch-a-sketch . This great toy has all the fun of an etch a sketch, without the frustration. I always hated trying to make a diagonal line and never really enjoyed mine as a kid because it felt very limiting. This one still provides my son with hand to eye coordination and creativity, but is a lot more interesting than just making straight lines. He likes trying to write his name with it and it and does spend more time playing with it than I ever did mine.

So So Toy . I got this for a great price, so I cannot complain too much. But for some reason no one in my family thinks this is as much fun as a traditional Etch A Sketch. So far it has been used maybe twice.

Not a good product... . This was purchased as a gift, and I was sort of embarrassed to present it. It seemed flimsy and the drawings were very dim.

Lots of fun! . The grandkids loved these, they're three and three and a half. The parents played with them too!Good toy at a great bargain!

Nice But Not Like The Original . Interesting take on the original. Grandkids liked it but it was difficult if not impossible to "shake" and clear the screen. Probably would not purchase again.

Cons Review

Fun! . I think I may prefer this etch a sketch freestyle to the regular etch a sketch. There is more freedom in making pictures. I can even write in cursive. My boys, ages 3 & 4 received it for Christmas and have enjoyed it. I envision this being something we play with for a long time to come. I wish the screen was larger like the regular etch a sketch, but the size does make it nice for carrying it with you.

Nice but not the best . Bought this because the original Play-Doh set was sold out. I really don't like the rolling pin because you need to use the palm of your hand instead of the handles. The tube and attachments are too big, and the dough goes around the shapes instead of through it. The orange circles can only be used with your thumbs, making it a little messy and not very long pieces of spaghetti or other shapes. The scissors smoosh the dough instead of cutting, which just causes chaos with my son because it's "not right!". If you have the choice between this and the original Play-Doh set, go for the good one! I will continue to use this because it's all we have, but am going to hold out for the original and keep this as a back-up!

play doh rollers cutters more . This set was a real disappointment. The only good part was the tubs of playdoh themselves.. But if 2 new colors were all we wanted we could have saved money and bought them separately. The plunger, which should hold the end cap pieces -will not. The strip of shapes is very hard to use and the rolling pin doesn't work any better than your palm because nothing really rolls or moves on it. The scissors pinch and are very stiff. The only thing that works as it should is the knife! Very disappointing. This set is a far cry from what it should be.

My toddler's favorite toy! . This is one of the best toys I got so far for my 21 month toddler. She LOVES playing with the PlayDoh, but she still lacks the coordination to make figures by herself. This product is great for this age. She figured out very quickly how to use the accessories to mold the PlayDoh. Now she wants to play with it every day, and she is learning to play by herself, so it gives me free time! I definitely recommend it.

Two more comments:
- It comes with scissors and some smaller pieces. I just put these apart until she grows up a little. The rest of the accessories are very safe for a young child.
- It only comes with two colors. But for me that is enough. In fac, I always use one of them. My child is still small enough to play with two colors without mixing. So this is not a disadvantage. But if the child is older, I recommend buying some more play doh to complement.

And this is it. I wish there was a small bag to put all together, too. I am using one of those nice plastic bags from some shoes I bought her. But it would be a nice complement.

Playdoh & accessories . Who doesn't love playdoh? You can't ever go wrong with a playdoh purchase. The scissors & knife & roller are great (one reviewer mentioned that the handles aren't something you keep stationary, you have to move them as well...true & annoying, but my child doesn't know the difference). The cookie cutters are great. Oddly enough, this should really come with instructions (as I've seen others point out). I finally figured out the ruler with shapes in it actually slides over the red tube. The 4 orange pieces are completely useless. I threw them away. The only way to get the playdoh through the small holes is to push it through with your thumbs, and it barely works & makes a big mess in your fingernails. You definitely can't make spaghetti or anything with them. Like I said, they're useless. I guess I should have purchased a different kit, but this one does the job for the cost. So I had 4 useless pieces, oh well, the rest is great fun for my 3 yr old. =) I would recommend this if you're looking to start a small playdoh kit.

Play Doh rollers and cutters . I was not impressed with this toy.
I bought for my grandson and tried to play with it with him.
The extruder I thought would be able to make all the shapes of the tips it came with, however they could not be attached to the extruder.
The only thing the extruder was for was for the flat shape that could be slipped in.
The tips were worthless and difficult to use, so they were a waste.
Overall for the price, I think I could have done better.

Play-doh is the greatest . I teach Sunday School for the 3 turning 4-year-olds. This year has been a particularly difficult group and after a short lesson, we used to pull out puzzles and books. Then I went in the attic and dragged out my play-doh toys from 13 years ago. They love it and look forward to playing every week (but of course we have to have our lesson first.)I picked up this particular set because the scissors and roller are very popular and I needed a few more. My other rollers are exactly like this one - the whole thing is one piece not like my kitchen rolling pin. The kids have never complained and I never noticed until I read the reviews. The kids have also never complained about the scissors. The plunger extruder is not as popular as my lever one and it doesn't have the "hair" shape the kids love but the triangle is a popular second.Thank you for all the reviews about the orange things. I couldn't figure out what they were for. Great shapes, the kids would have loved them, but I took everyone's advice and just tossed them. I just don't want the kids to get frustrated instead of the friendly, sharing, experience we enjoy every week as we play.

Cons Review

Great Purchase . This product was a Christmas present for my 2yr old. (30 months) He loves it. Keeps him happy for at least an hour at a time, and when he gets bored we switch doh colors and the fun starts again. Such a great purchase.

Good ol' Play Doh Fun! . I bought this with a box of 10 or 12 mini tubs of colors and it was a great pairing. The 2 tubs that come with it are fine too but it was good for us and our rainy days on our vacation to the beach to have the other fun colors too. The little "cookie cutter" shapes were the biggest hit. My 4-year-old really liked making the 4 shapes in many different colors. He used the scissors to cut up his creations! I tried using the very human anatomy-looking plunger to make the shapes and that works fine. But there is no way I could figure out to use the spaghetti type shapers. I ended up pushing some thru with my fingers to make some long strings. So that part of the toy (the 4 orange button type things... also oddly looking like human anatomy!) gets one star. Especially since it does not explain anywhere on the container how to use those. I was probably not understanding how to use them. If they could attach to the plunger somehow they would work just great! You can make all kinds of shapes, strings, dots, etc, etc! It is a really nice set for being creative without the toy trying to tell you what to do. Like some of the food-themed sets would do.

Overall a high rating for Play Doh fun-ness!

Great except for the orange things . My 2(almost 3) year-old son loves play-doh we play it together so when I saw this set at a bargain price in the local supermarket I thought it would be ideal. The rolling pin and shape cutters are great, he really likes to play with them as well as the plastic scissors and knife(because they are plastic he won't cut himself). I am however rather disappointed with the extruder tube as only the ruler with shapes fits in it, the orange things don't at all, guess we won't be making spaghetti play-doh. You can only push the play-doh though with your thumb, basically the orange things are useless and a bit of a waste. Other than that this set was okay value wise and my son loves to play with it. I think an older child probably wouldn't be as easily pleased though.

Great tools and addition for play-doh . Everything is plastic so you don't have to worry about your child hurting themselves. Works well with Play-doh. My daughter loves to make the different shapes with the shape cutter.
