Great--and tidy--coloring fun . My DS received this as a gift for his 4th birthday. He didn't get much into it at first, but he recently rediscovered it (some months later) and just adores it. He has so much fun watching the colors develop, and experimenting with different things to rub/scrape it with! And I love that he can't color our furniture and walls with it! It's also very portable, so it's good for taking places where he might need a little compact distraction (restaurants, visiting, etc). The only downsides I can think of is that the papers must be stored carefully, or the finish may be damaged (which leaves white/pale spots when rubbed), and also some of the smaller papers (stickers, bookmarks) are easily lost. Also, it'd be really nice if a decent selection of different packs of papers were readily available!

Don't waste your money . My daughter had this, and it was awful. To get the color to show through, you have to push really hard. Really, really hard. The resulting color is not very bright. It was so light that my daughter was frustrated that it didn't look like the cover.
In addition to the frustrations of the brightness and how hard you have to push to get weak color, the sound of the scraping paper is enough to drive me crazy. It's kind of like erasing paper with an eraser that's almost out. It's a horrible sound.
Overall, I would never, ever recommend this product to anyone. BTW, my daughter was a little over 4 when she tried it. I was over 30 when I tried it. Both of us were frustrated with it! It went in the trash.
Lots of fun for young kids . My 4 year old niece loved it and asked me if we could get her another one. Her mom said she spent hours and hours on it.

Great Fun for indoor activity! . Both my 5 year old and 3 year old had lots of fun with this kit. It kept them busy and entertained for awhile. Sometimes the tools were a little harder for the three year to handle, but he did get the hang of it. My kids have played with the items in the kit about 4 seperate times and we just started running out of the small papers.

Cons Review not vivit color at all . It was so hard to see any color no matter how hard you rub the paper. It's not even close to pastel color. It doesn't worth the money
Nno bright fun colors only light pastel soft colors! . I don't understand the five-star reviews that this product has received. The biggest disappointment was the rubbing did not reveal bright fun colors, only very pale pastel colors. The yellow was barely discernable from the white. A bit of a let down.
