great toy . These beads are great.The only negative is you have to tie the ends instead of being able to put an actual hook.Or maybe they could of sent something with elastic.Other than that my daughter really enjoyed all the beads and charms!

Daughter is in Love! . This was right up my 7 yo's alley. Beads, jewelery and gobs of color. We have mando "tune-out" days and the kids have to find something creative and this is her go-to every time. How they cram that much in for the price they do is beyond me (well, I know)... Regardless a fabulous kit for girls of all ages. We have since ordered some similar sets by the same maker and have been pleased as well. She is the hit of the 2nd grade making cool beaded necklaces, hair bows and bracelets for all her friends.

Cons Review

Items looks different than what is pictured . The photo of this item has 18 slots of beads, but the actual product only has 12 slots of beads (including 1 that is just filled with a a warning about choking hazards, not beads). Therefore there are not as many varieties of beads. There are no purple beads, blue round beads, gray beads and the product is probably missing more. I would have thought I received the wrong item except for the product name is the same on the package. Boo.

seems great but could be better . This toy is really nice for learning letters, beading the letters through, etc. However, some letters are a bit hard for a 3 year old to bead through. And for my 5 year old who would like to create words, he is unable to do it since there is only one letter each in the package. this would be a great toy if there were multiple letters as my son can not even spell his name with it. :(

great idea poor quality . I put 2 stars for durability, but it was for being poorly made and handled.
On arrival, product was so loosely packed that its thin wrapping film was torn, edges and corners of wooden case were cracked and separated (I fixed them by Crazy-glue), the sliding plastic lid had multiple cracks, scratches all over. All four edges of this lid were rough and dangerous for my 2yo, so I did the sanding.
I thought about returning, but overall still usable and it was not an very expensive toy.
I chose this one because nobody was complaining about color coming off. So far, color is not coming off, but from the smell and impression, I have suspicion against quality of paint. My kid does not put toys into her mouth, so I am going to ignore this question.
As other person suggested, the lacing hole was not sanded that the thread does not go smoothly, and I feel that this may cause thread wearing out in near future. (However, since it is not smooth, pieces do not come off despite of my kid pulling the laced thread around, which is good for her.)

Despite of above issues, the color, pattern and design were great. The variation of alphabet, simple shapes and fun animals matches with my goal.
As other person suggested, hole is placed in awkward way, but my daughter seems not minding and enjoying its complex lacing (using gravity). So I put 5 stars for educational value.

I bought this $25 and my satisfaction was 3 stars overall. If this was $10s, I could put 4 or 5 stars.

Teaches patience persistence and the alphabet! . My 2 year old son went crazy for these beads for his birthday. When we first got them, he wanted us to string them for him all the time. Just one month later, he can string 10 or more on a string with no help. He loves his letters and feels a sense of accomplishment. I love the fact that they are a safe product too...to me it was worth a little extra over other versions to have a safer product.

Cons Review

Not all stringing toys are created equal! . I rarely feel compelled enough to write a review on a product, positive or negative- but felt I needed to pass on my experience to future buyers. I got this alphabet set mainly for the educational value of learning the alphabet, not as much for learning the actual stringing activity. This is very good news for me because I was shocked at how ridiculous this product turned out to be. The letters are of good quality and nicely painted but the holes are placed very inconveniently, so that you have to maneuver through crevices and gaps. I could not even lace some of these shapes...let alone my two year old. Very poorly thought-out drilling. It was very frustrating for her, and she is a lacing champ. The WORST part of this product is that the holes drilled are very jagged; it shreds the shoelace when threading it on the string. Also, the strings that come with this set are so flimsy; they are far thinner than shoelaces and have no stopper. It's no good at all. I am going to go ahead and keep this set and just use it for practicing letters, without the stringing. I was tempted to send it back and it would have been my first item I have ever returned to Amazon after being a loyal customer for over eight years.

***Stringing activity recommendation: I purchased Alex Little Hands String-a-Treat and Alex Little Hands String-a-Farm about a year ago and can't say enough wonderful things about those sets. There is no comparison between the Alex stringing toy and the Bead Bazaar one, go with the Alex toy...you will be glad you did!

Gorgeous fun & well made! . My two year old is really into stringing beads and lacing. The beads could technically be choking hazards, but the letters themselves are quite large. You can take out the smaller beads and still have lots of fun to play with the big beads. Plus the colors are gorgeous, they are smooth and feel great in your hands and the 3D letters are great for little ones learning letters! A great gift!

A great tabletop easel for a great price! . My son is only 21 months old, so I wasn't sure how he would do with an art easel. I therefore didn't want to spend a lot of money on it--which makes this the perfect choice for me! I set it up for him yesterday, and he's been playing with it ever since. I prefer that he use crayons and paper at this age (rather than the messy chalk and dry erase markers), so I used a clip to attach some paper to the easel and he's been coloring away! Once he's a little bit older, I'll introduce the markers and the chalk. The easel seems durable, but I can't comment on that really, since its only been one day. Even if it doesn't last that long, it was a small price to pay for a good activity.

Don't waste your time . I was looking forward to this all in one kit to try finger painting for the first time with my 4 year old son. It comes with many paints in closable cups, but its hard to paint out of them, without tainting the other colors and making mud. The paint is gloppy and never dries (its been a week, especially the yellow). The sponges are very small and don't take up the paint or make a clear stamped impression. The "finger paint" paper is some small glossy paper, about the size of a half sheet of printer paper. Bonus, comes with two popcicle sticks! Go get the crayola paints and pour small amounts into paper cups, so the whole pot doesn't become icky brown and mixed.

Does not dry! . My cousin and I decided to have a finger painting party and we used this paint. It was so goopy and not smooth. Even worse, our pictures were hanging in our garage for over 3 weeks and they did not dry!

Fun times with paints! . My daughter loves this set and as she's only 2.5 years old, anything that keeps her attention for more than 10 minutes is a big success. She'll play with this set for more than an hour straight. There are 8 colors from which to pick and they can also be mixed to create other colors.

We've used the set mostly as poster paints rather than finger paints, so we complimented it with a set of Melissa & Doug Jumbo Paint brushes (with a big handle for little hands to grip well). She loves being an artist. :)

So far, everything has washed away easily with water (but she's worn a plastic smock so we haven't had many clothing-related incidents). For $10, it's a good set that gives lots of fun to little ones.

Cons Review

Paint doesn't dry . My two-year old loves the finger paint but it does not dry after being applied. The spots where it wasn't too gloppy dried eventually (after about a week) but were still tacky. The glops never dried. I had to throw away every piece of art my son made. Also, my set was missing the sponges. The colors are very pretty but as another reviewer said, the colors easily get mixed up and become unusable. I intend to throw these away and try Crayola.

Hot Wheels & Monsters . It's Hot Wheels, how can that not be fun. My son had fun pointing out the cars in the book, and comparing them to the cars he has in his own collection. He did get frustrated that he couldn't make his cars look even close to the cover design. I really didn't care for the monsters added to the cars. They didn't seem to fit. It's a book to design cars, so what are
these monsters doing? They took away from the true focus- the car. Not enough stickers, and originally we didn't even recognize that they had numbers attached to them to tell us where they went. Not very imaginative when directed where things should go. The stencils were also confusing and a lot of work. They are also specific to each car. This leaving very little room for the imagination. Searching tediously for the right stencils to fit the car, stecils that don't always work, and then looking back and forth trying to match the stickers with the car... it loses something.

Worth the money! . My 5 year old LOVES this, he can create the cars any way he wants, the stencils are numbered so it's easy for him. He can add stickers as well. He's played with this every day since Christmas. The only slight con- the pages go quickly! It teaches him to stay in the lines and hold/use the pencils correctly. Over all a great item for the price!

Great option for learning and designing!! . I bought this for my 11 yr old for Christmas and he loves it! He makes different designs for his cars and stays hours doing it! Nice way to maintain occupied. It's sturdy and he always remove the stencils and then place them back to avoid losing one. Very pretty beads! . I purchased these set of beads along with another set for my niece as she is crafty and thought these would be so pretty to make bracelets with.
They are very pretty but I was a bit disapointed when it came and I realized how small it was. I guess when I seen the picture I was thinking it was a larger container but overall they are very pretty beads I am just not sure for the price if it was worth it. You can buy HUGE containers of cute bracelet making beads at craft stores.
So I guess I am saying.. the beads themselves are very pretty and if you have the money to spend then buy them they will make pretty bracelets, if you are short on money it might be wiser to purchase craft kit at local craft store

Good bead set..but it is made in China. . I was drawn in my Bead Bazaar's eco-friendly statements and in truth the beads are made of glass, shell, ceramic and seeds, which is great. The set is assembled in the USA but the components are made in china. I had hoped that would not be the case, especially since the price for their products far exceeds the price in craft stores. I don't like having to worry about lead and, worse cadmium in my child's toys. That said, I don't know where you could find necklace making kits that are not made in china so I guess I'll just have to take eco-friendly for now. My daughter did enjoy the pink beads and the materials were decent quality.

Cons Review

Awful . Even by the low, low standards by which we judge Barbie toys, this is a failure. The stickers aren't cut all the way, so you end up tearing them all in half, and the stencils are so thin that they rip almost immediately unless you're extremely careful (hope your high-schooler is into Barbie). The sketchpad is a good idea--I wish a different company had come up with it so my daughter could actually enjoy it.

We love this . My daughter received this for Christmas this year. While the stencils are flimsy my four year old plays very well with them (we keep them far away from her two year old sister). She feels like a real fashion designer! We have a different problem with the stickers. Ours were cut too far into the paper and when we peel them off the paper comes with it. That is the only down fall that we have. My daughter loves these so much I've scanned the different styles of papers so she will have them later. Great toy!

Encourages creativity! . After reading the previous review (and only other review at this point), I feel compelled to add my own. I bought two of these sketch books for my 4 and 9 year old daughters, and I think they are fabulous. Yes, the stickers are are little thin- more like decals, but we had no problem with them. And yes, the stencils could be made sturdier, but then the price would go up and we'd all be complaining about that. They're selling these books for a reasonable price here, so I don't find the quality to be a problem. The stencils work just fine for what they are intended. My daughters have not complained once about these sketch books being tough to use. They love the creative license that each fresh page provides to them. There are a variety of templates which they can further decorate with stickers and stencils (i.e. varying pictures of Barbie's face to which they can add makeup, hair, and jewelry accessories or pictures of Barbie's nails to which they can add decals, color, or designs). My daughters have both played with their books each of the four days we've had them since Christmas, and even taken them in the car with them while we ran errands. The price on these was quite reduced after the holidays, so I bought several to save for birthday parties later in the school year. Fun, convenient, and well worth the low price.

If looking to develop vertical reading habits product is great. . The product is good, colorful, and the 3 year old for whom I bought it had great fun and went from struggling to get the string through the whole to zipping through a whole string very adeptly. *However*, a large portion of the beads are letters, which is wonderful and what I wanted, but the holes in the beads are positioned that the letters fall vertically and not horizontally. So once you've got them on the string, it's sideways reading. Also, as noted in previous reviews, there are several beads which require the hole to be enlarged with some kind of pointy tool you have handy.

Great fun quality craft activity . These are a lovely alterative to plastic-y beads. My 3 year old daughter loves stringing them, sorting them and spelling her name with the letters. My only complaint is that a few of the decorative beads have tiny holes that are extremely difficult to thread on the sting without a needle. We solved this problem with a large tapestry needle. I would definitely buy another bead kit from this company.

Makes lots of bracelets and necklaces! . This kit will provide hours of crafty fun for the little girl in your life. I purchased this set for my neice who is 5. She had so many toys on her list that I thought it would be nice to get her something that will put her imagination to work and also end up with something that she can say she made herself. The set comtains so many beads, I am pretty sure she will run out of string before she runs out of beads. Additional string can be purchased at the local craft store for very little money. There are plenty of alphabet beads to make many named pieces, as well as pretty colored beads to compliment. The tray it comes in is really nice and will help keep her organized as she creates her masterpieces.Highly recommend!

Awesome beading for beginners! . I bought this bead box for my 3 and 4 year olds to help with fine motor skills. Along with the motor skills, we worked on spelling and on sequencing- Not only is it fun, but it really does have educational value. This is definately not a beading set for my toddlers to do by themselves though. The beads are small, and I would bet the pretty colors would make them want to "taste" them if mom wasn't watching. A little bit older child could be trusted with them and would really enjoy them!

My 5 year old daughter loves this barbie sketch book!!! . I purchased this Barbie sketch book for my 5 year old daughter and she LOVES it!!Sh loves that she can draw makeup on them. Great set especially for girls struggling to draw . We had one of the full size sketch pads and I was interested in one that my daughter could learn to draw facial features. The notebook comes with a page of stickers and 4 stencil sheets and preprinted faces to draw/decorate. It is a great way for begining artists to start to draw details. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the preprinted faces are only 3 designs over and over. I wish there were some blank sheet, more variety or some just plain faces without the same three scences.

My niece loved it!! . I bought this for my niece as a Christmas present. She loved it so much, she has already requested the fashion design ones for her birthday.

This and the pink set made a great gift for my friends' kids . I gave these and the pink ones (Bead Bazaar Bead Medleys and Bags - Chica Medley - Purple) Bead Bazaar Bead Medleys and Bags - Chica Medley - Purple for three of my friends who have kids. They all say that the kids enjoyed them. Now, maybe they were being polite, but I tell them to be brutally honest with me. It seems to be fun until they have made their beads, and then that's that - the activity stops there. I don't think this is reason to penalize the item a star, so I give it five stars. It have one of my friends at least one evening of peace - her kids didn't fight with each other at all the night that they received these!

Needs better laces . My 2 year old had a difficult time lacing the strings provided through the holes because the tips of the laces are not long enough - the plastic coating needs to be longer. We have added a plastic knitting needle on the end for her and she is able to use it better this way. Otherwise a good product.

good but a little rough at first . These are beautiful to look at and nice and chunky, but the holes are a little rough on some of them. The string gets caught going through the holes.
I think it is getting better with time and use.
The ones with double holes through the same letter are challenging but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The box was a little broken on arrival but not enough to compromise its integrity.
