small... . Please be advised that this is a VERY small set - it seemed bigger in the picture but when I got it in the mail it looks soo cheap and small - I'm going to have to buy something in addition to this as a gift.

Needs more string! . Lots of beads but needs more string! It's got beautiful beads and is a delight to look at in the package. The items you make with it are beautiful as well, but you need more string in order to use the beads. This is a problem I've run into with every beading package--we always run out of the special string that children use to string their projects, and I have no idea where to buy more.
That having been said, it's a fun product, guaranteed to occupy an afternoon.

Beads and projects great box so-so . The contents of this cute set of beads is great! The price is right. My slightly less-than-perfect scoring comes from the fact that the adorable packaging has a flimsy, wimpy latch. It won't stay closed on its own (especially if your child wants to carry this box by the handle). I used a rubber band to secure it before releasing it to my kid. Also, it is easy to open upside down and have all the beads spill out (creating a choking hazard for younger siblings that may be underfoot). I wish the latch were stronger and a sticker logo on top to identify the top more clearly for a child.
Would I buy again? Absolutely!

very small...not big as imagined . Cute bead set but very small. It can practically fit in both of my palms. Dont let the previous price of 17 bucks fool you. It was worth the 6 dollars I spent, but I could never see myself spending anything more than that. I bought two sets for my daughters bday party as an arts/craft project. The girls had fun with it. I would look around for sets that offer more beads/string for the money. Looks like a set you can buy at Walmart, not Melissa and Doug quality overall.
my grandaughter loved this . I took this as a gift when I visited my 4 year old granddaughter. She loved the specialty bead, hearts, butterflies, flowers. This was the one item we played with over and over again. i am ordering another one so we can make necklaces for Daddy and Grandpa.
Fun for my girls . My 3yr and 6yr old girls loved making their own jewelry . We bought this set as well as a pink one and my girls shared to combine the sets. We have more beads then string, so i will need to by more string to continue the fun, no big deal. Great toy for little girls.
Bead Set- it is what it is! . It is what it says it is... a bead set! All little girls love to make necklaces and bracelets! Great for the imagination of girls for a wide age range! Great price!
CUTE! . I am happy with this purchase. I bought this item so I could personally make my daughter bracelets (she is two) and I couldn't really find any play jewelry that didn't just come with bracelets (shoes, tiaras, etc). So I decided to make my own. The wire is more lilke fishing wire so I went to walmart and purchased stretchy string for $1. The beads are cute and now that I am finished with all of the beads, my daugther can use it for her arts and crafts and be able to carry it around. Great buy!
Good but could be better . I was thrilled to find these beads for my three-year-old daughter. Like many three-year-old girls, she loves all things sparkly and shimmery, and she loves jewellery. But most bead sets for kids her age are made of wood and are big and bulky: not nearly girly enough for her tastes. The properly shimmery bead sets are made for older kids, with cord too fine and holes too small for her to be able to string the beads herself. The cord in this set is good and stiff, and the holes are big enough that she can string them on her own.
However, the cord is kinked from being tied up in the package, and these kinks stay in whatever jewellery you make with it: not very attractive.
Also, the very practical-looking box the beads come in doesn't actually snap shut, so you can't carry it around by the handle, or even keep the beads in it without them spilling.
All in all it was a nice present to receive, but I would not buy it again.

Granddaughter loves it! . This is a perfect rainy-day craft project for the granddaughters, age 5-7. It's low price and an excellent value. The kids had a blast with it. No complaints. The other reviews say it all. I bought additional cord from this site at the same time, so they won't run out for a very long time.
