Fun Dough~! . Fun dough, my 3 year old loves it. It's neat because you can mold it and shape it into balls and make sand castles with it. The only thing is that if it drops on the ground it sticks and is hard to pick up. I bought the 5 pound bag and its lasted about 6 weeks due to my toddler dropping some of it. I am going to re-order some more sand. A bit on the pricey side but the benefits of being able to mold it is why I am ordering more. Plus it comes in cool colors like the purple sand we have! I also like that it is hypoallergenic and dust free. My daughter has allergies to dust, so this is also nice. :)

Great OT Toy! . My 3-yr-old daughter has some aversion to certain materials. She has some occupational therapy delays that this is connected to. So this kind of toy where she really enjoys getting into strange feeling substances on her hands is enormously helpful. She asks to go outside and play with the moon sand every day! We have a moon sand table in the back yard. And this large amount lasts a long time if you just use about 1/3 or less to refresh the bin every couple months.

I wish Moon Sand were cheaper (and less messy) . This stuff is pretty good, and the Amazon retailer sells it for a fairly reasonable price. The grains of Moon Sand really do clump together like wet sand, but when you crush the clumps, they feel like dry sand. The colors are vibrant, and the sand is a hit with my daughter.On the other hand, 5 lbs really isn't that much sand, and I definitely find that my three-year-old knocks clumps off the sand table fast enough to run through the bag pretty quickly.All in all, it's pretty good for what it is, though if you are looking for sand-like play, I recommend using dry rice, dried beans, and (my family's favorite) unpopped popcorn. My kids love digging for toys in the different textures. My older daughter likes to bury her hands and feet, and all the kids like to dig things up. And although its certainly possible to lose grains of rice or kernels of corn, they just aren't as annoying to clean up as sand.

Purple Sand . Moon sand is so fun... but sooo messy! Thank goodness for the sunny outdoors (just wish there was more of them here!)
