So Fantastic! . Wow! My daughter is almost 3, and she likes to make handprint impressions, so I figured it was time to try this one (which we got as a gift a while back, but I was afraid to ruin it... I wanted to make sure she was old enough to hold still). The gel took much longer to set than it states in the directions, which was fine-- I was so worried about stirring it fast enough before it hardened. It took more like 7 or 8 minutes to dry instead of 3. I have a patient daughter, so she handled it fine as long as we kept counting.
We had leftover plaster, which we poured into a styrofoam plate and made an extra handprint impression. I couldn't resist and ended up peeling away the gel before 24 hours had passed, but the plaster was plenty dry already. It came out AMAZING! It's one of those rare products that really does come out just as nicely as the picture depicts. It came out very detailed and almost perfect-- very little touch-up needed. After a week, you can seal it to preserve it longer.
Mine came with a wooden base and a metal plaque, but it seems the kits no longer have this. I'm ordering a second one just because I love it so much that I want to do another... a whole series of them if I can afford it. :)
You'll need a rubber spatula to stir the material (I didn't have one-- used a plastic spoon, which worked, but would have been better to have the spatula). Hope your results are as great as ours.

Cons Review
Poor instructions . We were unable to use this product properly due to the unclear instructions and ended up with nothing but goop. The instructions for the "precious gel" say that it should be stirred vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds, but only until it starts to turn pink. Unfortunately, it turns pink immediately upon contact with cold water, and 30 seconds is not enough time to stir it into anything like the cake batter described in the instructions. We stirred as well as we could for 30 seconds and used the resulting batch of pink, watery, powdery glop. After 10 minutes it had turned into white, watery, powdery glop, which never solidified enough to hold its shape. Probably it would have been better to stir it until it was less watery, but that would have taken more than 30 seconds.
