Absolutely beautiful! . I just receive this Smash Folio for Christmas and it's stunning! What I don't like about the Amazon product page is that the International Smash Folio isn't shown in detail, which is a real shame. But not to worry because it's a terrific purchase regardless!I have barely just started using the pen that comes with the journal. The marker itself is a thin marker perfect for writing and I think it's good quality. I have read that people have issues with the glue stick not working properly because it doesn't glue well. However, I have done a test and so far everything is sticking, you just have to give it time to dry. The only problem I have with the glue stick is trying to twist it back in. I needed to twist it out a bit to glue something in, but when it came time to twist it back in, the glue remained stationary. I didn't think much of it and as I twisted it back in, I just pushed the glue stick in. Other than that, I didn't see any problem with the pen.The journal roughly measures 10.5" by 8". The journal comes in a plastic cover which has sticker labels on it. However, these are easily removable (I successfully removed them) so you can keep the cover as protection for your journal. The description fails to mention that the cover is embossed with the image of a compass to fit the theme of travel. I also liked the spine, which is yellow book fabric instead of the typical weak paper spine. The spine is also stamped with SMASH*, but I don't really mind it. The journal is spiral bound instead of a traditional journal bound with thread or paste.The sheets within are absolutely gorgeous and durable! It's all quality scrapbooking paper within. There are various patterns, little survey like things with "Top 10" lists, images of world famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, and different phrases in Italian, Spanish, and French. At the very back, there is also a pocket folder where you can put little tidbits you need to add to your smash folio later. It's a fabulous do-as-you-go scrapbook! I would highly recommend it.

EK Success K & Company International Smash Folio . I bought the EK Success K & Company International Smash Folio for my recent trip to Europe with my husband so I'd have a really sturdy, substantial, and special place to record and store some of the special mementos of our trip. I like that each and every page has a different design theme and they all relate to international travel. I'm still stuffing, smashing, and sticking our treasures inside and I'm loving every minute of it. My husband is enjoying flipping through what I've put in so far & I haven't even printed our photos so I can put those inside. It's going to be amazing. The pen that came with the EK Success K & Company International Smash Folio works well so far. I did in fact order an extra one and unfortunately it didn't work out at all. Hopefully, this Black "Smash" Pen will keep what's meant to be stuck, well... stuck.

Pleasant Surprise! . I had used paint by number kits years ago where the picture was printed on a flat particle board. Imagine my surprise and delight when this kit arrived and I discovered that it is on STRETCH CANVAS!!!!! Acrylic paints and only one paint brush is included. Upon opening the package and inspecting the canvas, I realized that the numbers are little hard to see. That can be a challenge for those of us over a certain age wearing bifocals or progressive lenses. Also, unlike other paint-by-number kits that I have used in the past, this kit instructs the user to mix some colors for other parts of the painting. If you've never done anything like that before, that can present another challenge. I'm considering the purchase of additional brushes in the event that the one brush, that was included, is insufficient. I can't wait to get started on this painting to see how it comes out!

Way fun paint-by-number of Venice . I love paint-by-number kits from Paint Works (Dimensions). This one was their usual great quality. Having done 5 of their kits and 1 from another company (that I will never order another one from), I can highly recommend this product. Since Archway to Venice has a lot of detailing and some small lettering, I would recommend it to the more advanced paint-by-number lover.

Handled the butchering of my 26 cows! With enough left over for my kid to make a dozen giant paper airplanes! . Finally a butcher paper worth writing a review about! I slaughter almost 2,600 cows a year and there's just nothing worse after a long day of slitting throats and yanking out entrails than to have your fresh meat crash to the saw dust covered floor because of substandard butcher paper. These guys know how to make butcher paper, the blood just slides right off! And it's easy to write on, too! I honor the memory of each cow I kill by writing his or her name on the wrapped meat parcels, and whether I use a crayon or a marker, I can be sure that name will stay on there until my customers throw the paper away.

Cons Review

Misleading to state 40# weight - Its thinner than 20# copy paper . I was quite DISAPPOINTED after receiving this 18"x900' roll of white butcher paper (Boardwalk BUTCH1840900; about $29). It is so thin that it can be readily used as tracing paper. By claiming #40 weight I expected to get paper a little thicker than common typing/copy paper. It turns out that 20# typing paper is 25 percent heavier than this paper (equivalent 16#). After some research on a couple of paper industry sites it seems that manufacturers measure the "basis weight" differently for different types of paper. This allows the presumably technically accurate, but misleading, claim of 40# paper. Also, it is unsuitable as true butcher paper because there is no moisture barrier film. Even for dry wrapping you will need multiple layers in most applications. The seller should have known what its customers expect and described it in such terms.I was hoping to use this as drawing paper for sketches and patterns in my shop. Now I have 1350 square feet of tracing paper, at best.The good: cheap, includes plastic end caps for dispenser mounting rod
The bad: way thinner than reasonably expected, translucent, too heavy to return to seller for refundI would not buy this again. It would be better to pay more for a useful roll of paper.

seahorse dive toys break easily . I bought these dive toys for our new pool based on the good reviews. Yes, they do sink gently and are easy to retrieve but two of the four are already broken. My boys told me that they threw them in the pool and missed and the toys hit the cement and the lower plastic that hold the weights broke and the weight fell off. Disappointing. We also have some other fabric dive toys that are holding up much better that these sea horses. :(

Waste of money . Although these pool toys were a great idea, they broke right away. Inevitably, a kid would toss the toy and miss the water and the toy would hit the patio and break. They should be made from a more flexible or durable plastic.

Lacking . All items were present and accounted for in the kit. However, the 'some assembly required' did not include instructions nor measurements for DRILLING holes into the box in order to make it an actual easel. Very dissatisfied with the product as it does not meet its said function.

Packing horrible making the product bad . I love to buy in Amazon, however some time to time I get packages like this one. Everything inside was scramble and one of the parts was broken, so I am not sure if I will be able to assembly anymore. All the little tubes with the paint were floating around the box and one of the caps was missing. Another thing is that one of the paint tubes had an small hole on it and when I tried to use it I found it was dry.

So Fantastic! . Wow! My daughter is almost 3, and she likes to make handprint impressions, so I figured it was time to try this one (which we got as a gift a while back, but I was afraid to ruin it... I wanted to make sure she was old enough to hold still). The gel took much longer to set than it states in the directions, which was fine-- I was so worried about stirring it fast enough before it hardened. It took more like 7 or 8 minutes to dry instead of 3. I have a patient daughter, so she handled it fine as long as we kept counting.

We had leftover plaster, which we poured into a styrofoam plate and made an extra handprint impression. I couldn't resist and ended up peeling away the gel before 24 hours had passed, but the plaster was plenty dry already. It came out AMAZING! It's one of those rare products that really does come out just as nicely as the picture depicts. It came out very detailed and almost perfect-- very little touch-up needed. After a week, you can seal it to preserve it longer.

Mine came with a wooden base and a metal plaque, but it seems the kits no longer have this. I'm ordering a second one just because I love it so much that I want to do another... a whole series of them if I can afford it. :)

You'll need a rubber spatula to stir the material (I didn't have one-- used a plastic spoon, which worked, but would have been better to have the spatula). Hope your results are as great as ours.

Cons Review

Poor instructions . We were unable to use this product properly due to the unclear instructions and ended up with nothing but goop. The instructions for the "precious gel" say that it should be stirred vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds, but only until it starts to turn pink. Unfortunately, it turns pink immediately upon contact with cold water, and 30 seconds is not enough time to stir it into anything like the cake batter described in the instructions. We stirred as well as we could for 30 seconds and used the resulting batch of pink, watery, powdery glop. After 10 minutes it had turned into white, watery, powdery glop, which never solidified enough to hold its shape. Probably it would have been better to stir it until it was less watery, but that would have taken more than 30 seconds.

Made of cheap plastic . These moving sand frames are hard to find, and my wife has one that quit working. The sand is stuck and won't move at all. I bought this one, and was surprised by the cheap plastic design. I removed the (sandwiched glass w/ sand) plastic frame, and made my own from solid oak. I also made my own pedestal from oak, and stained it.

New shapes on every turn . I got it for my desk at work and finally it was the perfect gift for a good friend that always stopped by just to play with it.

Cons Review

Major disappointment . When I was a kid, my older brother had this fairly-large, oval-shaped moving sand picture-toy. It was so cool and I absolutely loved to play with it until it broke and eventually disappeared one day (probably got thrown out).

Ever since then, I've been searching for the same item and this product is the closest I've seen. I was thrilled when it arrived in the mail until I discovered that, unfortunately, it's a sad facsimile. It is much smaller than the one we had, the sand/liquid just don't flow the same way, and the sand is constantly getting stuck here and there. I recently came across one of these in our local thrift shop and noticed it had the same problem. I imagine the former owner probably donated it for that reason.

I guess I was spoiled by the quality of the original version we had years ago. I sure wish I could find it somewhere again. As far as this item is concerned, all I can say is that, sadly, they just don't make things the way they used to.

SADD IT SWELLED . THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN WHEN YOU GET THEM-BUT THEY SWELL OVER TIME-AND do not work properly-SAD-THEY NEED TO BE MORE STERILE-TO LAST!!!

Perfect for campers and canoeists! . In the outdoors, knowing and tying the right knot in the right circumstances can save your food, your canoe, your self respect and even your life. The "Klutz Book of Knots" is not the right choice for a sailor looking to win rigging contests. It certainly isn't the choice for someone looking to set records with the world's fanciest macramé creations. Nor is it appropriate for someone looking to begin a course in rock climbing. But it IS a superb primer of the very best set of basic and not quite so basic knot skills for someone who wants to develop an indispensable repertoire for use in the context of hiking, canoeing and backcountry camping - bowline, half hitches, tautline hitches, trucker's hitch, figure eight, double figure eight, figure eight on a bite, sheet bend and more.

You'll not only learn how to tie the knot but also how to tighten the knot and which context is correct for which knot. For example, you will learn that the choice between a bowline and two half-hitches depends on whether the rope you are working with needs to be snug to the attachment ring or post.

And what a brilliant idea ... the book's pages are made of heavy cardboard and are perforated so that the reader can practice with the supplied rope tying the knot to the page of the book directly over top of the illustration. Even a klutz can learn with great tools like that! Oh yeah ... I guess that's the whole point, isn't it?

And a bonus for those of us whose hiking boots or running shoes are constantly coming undone ... an absolutely bombproof way of tying up your shoes with a knot that simply will not loosen but is still a slip knot and comes undone with a simple one handed tug. I fell in love with that one! Highly recommended.

klutz book of knots . Klutz books are great for kids and even for bigger 'kids'. I bought this book years ago for my son when he was a young boy. In his travels as a young man, the book went by the wayside. I found it again on Amazon and regave it to him. It is just as useful now as it was then. Three cheers for Klutz.

Great Introduction to Knots . Very valuable for teaching kids and Boy Scouts about knots. It has the important ones. Also has the Ashton which is the most useful way in the world to tie a bundle. The truck knot (really it is several knots together) will tighten a line so much as to be able to pluck it. This book is a definite must buy.
