We Love Alex crafts! This one not as easy for the younger or inexperienced crafters. . Yes we do love Alex Crafts.
The little hands series are great because they prepackage crafts projects together in individually wrapped sets.

Our last 2 sets also have been great for the toddler\preschool cusp age kids in the 2-3 year old range, quite frankly a market grossly overlooked.
I am torn with this set, because even though it was a bit frustrating for my child who is just below the reccomended age. I honestly can't think of how to make it more friendly for the Littler Little hands...
This one really is more for the 4 and up age kids just for the hand strength and dexterity needed for some "intricate" (for young kids) cuts that need to be made.
That or A LOT of parent "help" Translation they have to do a fair amount of cutting.
Some cuts can ruin a project with just a "little" slip, as happened to us. That is with us helping him, but at 3 1\2 he gets more frustrated if we have to help him, he really wants to do things himself.
FOr the record it is great for the older crafters or those with good scissor skills.
I just was expecting it to be a little more "friendly" for the first time cutters in the younger age group to let them hone skills without ruining projects..
That is where I was disappointed I was hoping it would be great practice to develope skills.
Still a great activity for the kids that can focus and have the dexterity.

Scissors broke! . I am normally a huge fan of Alex crafts, but this was disappointing. I got it because of the special scissors, since my daughter is just learning to cut and still has difficulty with child scissors. I really liked the scissors with this craft, except they broke before she had finished cutting out the first thing! The rest of the craft is really cute, with lots of good practicing if your child is learning to cut. Just wish the scissors would've lasted longer.

GREAT cutting excersize . My 3.5 year old daughter loves art kits and this was one of her favorites. Cutting is a difficult task to learn and this gave her the incentive and confidence to master it. Really, she was a beginner cutter when we started but by the time we finished all the sets, she was really very good at turning the paper and cutting sharper angles. The scissors in the kit are not great (they get "stuck" on the the paper) but we had some kid scissors and just switched to those. Wish there was another cutting kit!

excellent intro to cutting . I bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday. She really enjoys making crafts and this was perfect. It was an excellent introduction to cutting. The scissors that come with the set are okay but I preferred a pair we already had. I love how each craft is individually packaged. Great fun and educational. Would recommend this product to others with preschool age children.
Missing Pieces . Cute cutting set with lots of activities for cutting practice but arrived missing scissors and glue stick listed as contents on the box. Very disappointing!
cheaply made . When we opened the package, the glue stick didn't have a cap. So as a result the glue stick was totally dried out. The scissors broke after 10 minutes of use for the first time, and my 3 year old son was very upset. It's a total crap!
Great learning tool! . THis is a wonderful, fun and creative way to teach a small child how to use scissors. We're not crazy about the plastic scissors it came with and replaced them with 'real' kid safe scissors though. The ones included are a little difficult to actually cut with. But the activities are great and my four year old looks forward to completing them!
My 4 year old grandaughter loved this kit! . Great for rainy day projects. Fun, colorful, great use of 4 year old skills. She was so proud of what she made and it gave mommy and daughter wonderful "special time"I bought other craft sets from the same company!
Too much fun!!!!!! . Purchased for a 5 year old and we had such fun together. It really is great because the boy is learning dexterity with the scissors that it comes with. He did get a bit frustrated from all the cutting but had fun over-all.

Great projectst . My 6 year and 4 year old had fun with these set- it's nicely packaged. Kept kids busy for a few hours. Good on winter days when you have to spend a lot of time in doors
