Easy and fun. . My seven year-old daughter was all over this Alex Fab Badge Maker. It's so quick and easy to use, she didn't need my help at all. Basically, put the cloth on the front piece, screw the back on and decorate with stickers. She finished all ten badges in one short afternoon. The badge maker itself is just a piece of silicone-like material that holds the cloth and front piece in place so the back can be screwed on. I have to say, the end result is very attractive. Too bad there are only ten badges to make. However, if the kids are so inclined, they may take the badges apart and make new designs with any sort of thin fabric cut down to size.Other than the fact that the badges are quickly made and used up, this is a fabulous toy. I can see it as something fun to do at a party.

Alex Fab Badge Maker Reviews
There is potential here.... . First off- the badges actually come out the way they are depicted on the box. After showing her once, my 8 1/2 year old was able to make one all by herself. My complaint is that there is not much to the decorating other than then picking out the fabric and sticker. I think it would have been helpful if a great variety of sticker has been included and other craft items like glitter glue, google eyes, etc. But you could always supplement with your own fabrics and supplies.

First grader girl LOVES this . I can't say she wears a lot of the pins, but she LOVES making them. She re-uses the fabric and pins again and again.I would recommend to pretty much anyone!

Neat little project . This was a fun project for my daughter and I. We were able to make several buttons. The fabric options and stickers were nice. However, it would have been nice to have some more neutral options as her brothers really wanted to play along, but didn't want to make sparkly princess badges.
The badges were easy to do and didn't take much time. The process isn't very "obvious" though - the directions really matter. However, once you do the first once successfully you are really on a roll. Also, if you have extra scrap fabric at home you can easily make you own designs from things your child may really like.
The badges hold together very well. When we first made them I wasn't sure they would hold quite right - but they worked perfectly. Overall I really liked this as a fun craft project to enjoy with my daughter (she is four).

My daughter enjoyed this. . What you recieve is a box with some fabric squares, some pin backs and pin fronts. (I think a total of 10 or 12 pieces of everything.) You wrap the fabric around the pin back and then screw the pin front on top of the fabric onto the pin back. IT's not difficult. There is more to the kit because there are words and stickers and things that you can use to dress up your pins. My daughter is 10 and she enjoyed doing this and giving them away to her friends. She made it as a gift and put some extra fabric with each pin so her friends could change the look of the pin. The pins were easy to assemble and easy to take apart and reassemble. This is something that appealed to my daughter. She liked that she could take my old scrap fabric and make different looking pins. The Alex company often makes crafty type kits for kids that are potluck- sometimes they come across cheap and not well done and other times they are great. This is one that I'd say is great. My daughter completely enjoyed it. It entertained her for a rainy/snowy afternoon. Well worth the money. I'd probably buy another one or two of these for Christmas/Birthday gifts for other little girls.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
4 1/2 yr old daughter loves it! . This says it is for 7 and older. I guess because it has sharp pins. My 4 1/2 year old loves it. I helped her one time and then she did it all by herself after that. Each time she completed one she got more and more comfortable with it and now she does it quickly. She loves that she can do it by herself. She made one for her sister and was so excited to give her something she made using her own hands. The only place I have to help with is pinning it on because of the sharp tip of the pin. Highly recommend this gift!
Easy & Fun!! . My girls loved it!! The badges are pretty, too!! They made them to give their friends as well. Nice project.
Fun easy craft! . The day I received this I did it with my kids, a 4-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl. There are more fabric swatches than buttons, so you have options to choose which ones you like best. The kids had fun choosing which ones they wanted to make, and loved picking stickers to decorate the buttons. Of course I had to do all of the actual button making, but I think a kid just a little older than my daughter should be fine to handle the button maker. The only complaint I have is that you can see some black print on the front of the buttons through many of the fabrics.
Cons Review
As desribed . This toy is fun and not hard to use. Durability is good too, as our 4 year old son got a hold of his sisters finished buttons and they withstood his roughness. :)
