Non-spill containers . These containers really work and don't leak. So far my clever 2 1/2 year old hasn't figured out how to open them or pry open the lids yet. However, I do store the paint in them and keep the box on top of the refrigerator. She is just learning how to use a paint brush and said "artwork" for the first time when she wanted me to get the paints out for her. We usually go outside in the grass on a blanket and I don't have to worry about any mess. I recommend not using the chubby paint brushes with the cups a bit thinner ones will fit better and come in a pack of 4 instead of 3.

Containers only... . Maybe nobody else is as goofy as me, but I thought this product had paint in it. The containers I received are wonderful for their purpose. They are perfect for toddlers and young children to use for painting. But if you are giving them as a gift, don't forget to give them some paint to put in them. :)

Works Well . My 3 year old granddaughters use these easily and have no spills. Keeps the paint brushes upright, helps take off a bit of the paint, and stors the paint well.

Confusion over paint cups . This was purchased along with Melissa & Doug Easel, Pad Bundle and Paint Brushes as a Birthday gift for my 3 yr. old granddaughter. The entire line of Melissa & Doug items are wonderful learning tools for children. Unfortunately, when my granddaughter opened her gifts, the paint cups were "paintless". It was not made clear on the website that the paint cups contained no paint. It is very difficult to explain that to a 3 yr. old who wants nothing more than to "paint" on her new easel. Perhaps there should be some sort of notice - in large print for sight impaired grandparents - that the paint cups must be filled after purchase.
