Crayola Color Wonder Dinosaur Train Coloring Pad & Markers Reviews
My daughter just loves Color Wonder! . My daughter is about to turn 3 years old and she loves these Color Wonder coloring books and pads. This book comes with the markers that only color on this paper, which I love, and she loves to sit quietly and color. Dinosaur Train is one of her favorite shows, so she loves this book, but she has several others, as well, including Finding Nemo, Disney Princesses and blank coloring pads that allow her to use her own creativity.
The only complaints I would have about these products is that the coloring books have places that you can't color, like little hidden designs and such that if you color over they stay white, and secondly, the caps click onto the markers very tightly. Normally, I would say that snug fitting caps are a great feature, because you know your markers will not dry out; however, my daughter has trouble getting them to snap back on. She can get them off by herself, now, but she isn't strong enough to snap them back on all the way, so sometimes when she picks them up the lids fall off or get lost if I don't get them snapped on all the way before she cleans up. These are incredibly minor issues, though, and overall I am very happy to give her a coloring book and some markers and let her color by herself. I love that I can hand her these markers and not have to worry at all about where I will find marker ink. It doesn't get into my upholstery or carpet, she can't color on walls or tables... I love this! Great idea from Crayola!
I gave this item 3 stars for durability because it's coloring book, how durable can it get? And 3 stars for educational value because, other than developing her basic motor skills and learning to color inside the lines it doesn't offer much in the way of direct education. Overal, however, this is a 5 start item every time and I would suggest it to anyone who has kids!

Crayola Color Wonder Dinosaur Train Coloring Pad & Markers Opinions
Okay but not for young children...not like coloring should be! . I got a Color Wonder coloring book & markers for my 2 year old. Yes I know it's recommended for 3 and up, but, with my close supervision, I felt we could try this and it would be safer than regular markers.
Okay, these markers do color ONLY on the Color Wonder paper and that is wonderful. However, the books are designed with reactive portions of the paper. So, as you are coloring a page, if you want to color a blue sky, you are coloring and nothing happens. Then, eventually, the color appears, but not everywhere you colored. It might appear in strips or shapes. It's sort of a surprise because, "Hey, I colored this whole section blue, but got blue stripes & stars, instead." Not what I was looking for. I just wanted our toddler to color where she wanted(on the special paper) and not worry about her getting marker marks on the table.
So, I realize Crayola also makes just the paper, but I'm not sure if it's the same with parts that will show color and parts that won't, no matter what. I don't like that whole concept because I found myself(while trying to figure out what the problem was) just mindlessly dragging the marker all over the paper to figure out where it will show up. That's not what I want from an art product. There should be some clear cause & effect("Ooo, I put the marker here, scribbled, and got this design. Let me see what else I can do..."). Therein lies the other problem with this product, it takes some time for the color to appear after you have colored on a particular spot. It's not right away. This might work for older children, but older children also are more likely to know to keep it on the paper, so the age group for which a product like this(if it worked the way it should) is most helpful, can't understand it or benefit from it.
I'm sticking with Crayola Washable crayons, instead. Yes they write on everything, but also come off easily with water. And my 2 year old can happily draw balloons on plain paper with my supervision and reminders to draw only on the paper.

It's for my grandson . It's for my grandson. He's five . He asked for the toy but he hasn't told me about it yet. It's difficult to rate the toys when they are not for you. You should have another option
