Time consuming and string doesnt tie! . I bought these to use a craft at my daughters 8th birthday party. A few days before the party I opened the kit and quickly realized it would be too difficult and time consuming for little girls ages 8 - 10. I rolled 77 paper beads for the girls to use to make their bracelets. All the girls got to do was string the paper beads and the wooden beads that came in the kit. Many of the small wooden beads holes were clogged with paint. It was an easy fix but still annoying to have to unplug around 40 beads with a safety pin. Finally each girl had strung her beads on and was ready to have them tied. The string would not tie and stay tight. I was the one trying to tie them, along with another mom and we could not get them to stayed tied. We followed the directions exactly and couldn't get them to tie and we also tried a couple different knots and none of them would stay. It was very frustrating and 11 little girls had to go home with out a bracelet. I would NOT recommend this kit to anyone. We have purchased other American Girl Crafts before that worked much better.
Wonderful craft for girls! . My six year old daughter received this gift for Christmas. The directions were easy to follow and the paper pieces are printed in beautiful patterns on high quality paper. We rolled wonderful beads that strung easily on the stretch string that was included. We had so much fun with the kit that I ordered one for my third grade class to use (ages 8 and 9). This a wonderful craft kid for elementary aged children.
