Fun for grown-ups too. . Crayola has long been the provider of my "budget" colored pencils... and while I've tried other brands, I've kept going back to Crayola. Drawing and coloring (yes, they make coloring books for grown-ups now, too) are relaxing activities, perfect for unwinding from an otherwise stressful life, and something that can allow you to connect with the little ones in your life... which is something the little ones desperately need these days! (Real interaction... Imagine that!)

I normally use ordinary Crayola pencils, but I have tried the watercolor pencils, and I have to say... if I could afford it, I'd buy a ton of these. The main difference in my opinion, is that the color seemed a bit richer with these than with ordinary pencils. And of course, you can use water to create watercolor effects. Sadly, I only bought the 8-pack. But the more colors the merrier, right? I buy the other Crayola pencils by the biggest packs I can afford, and always keep every color on hand that I can get my hands on. But I'd keep these in stock too, if I could afford to.

So pick up a pack for the kids... and while you're at it, order one for you, too. (Come on... You know you want to!)

Great for face painting! . I saw these used for "face painting" at a couple of kids' parties. That's what I got them for. Actual face paint is too messy. These pencils are great. I have a bowl with a wet sponge in it. Then I just dip the tip of a pencil on the sponge and then just draw on my kids' skin. They're non-toxic, so it's ok. They don't leave stains after it's washed off the skin. We have yet to use them for watercoloring. Haha!

Just alright . Not a big fan, the color quality is better than the regular Crayola color pencils but sharpening is always a problem and the watercolor quality not great. I wouldn't buy them for watercolor use but for straight coloring prefer these to the regular variety.

great leds poor quality wood . The colors are nice and watercolor effect is nice. My only concern is the wood does not seem very good so they are hard to sharpen.

Best way for a youngster to do watercolor pictures . These watercolor pencils are so convenient and NEAT. They can be used anywhere to do the drawing and when you are in a place where can be added - the pictures can become real watercolors. No mess - no water spills in inconvenient places - no holes in the paper!! Supervision is only needed at the stage where water is introduced to the drawing. The child quickly learns that light use of pencil produces a light er shade and heavier use of pencil will produce a darker shade. A second color can be layered over the first one drawn - and then blended by the wet brush with great results.

I have since bought additional pencils and am very happy with the results.

Face Painting made easy . I had never done face painting when i purchased this for our company BBQ. The kids loved the face painting, and it was so easy to work with. Definitely will use it again. It stayed on for mostof the day through volleyball, water balloon fights, races and kids just plain horsing around. I loved it.

Great for Party! . I purchased this several weeks before my sons third birthday. I was doing a spiderman themed party and wanted to have face painting as one of the activities. It arrived a little later than I had hoped but thankfully I had ordered it well in advance. When I recieved it I had never painted anything on anyones face before and watched a youtube video on how to do a spiderman style face painting. After I watched the video I practiced on my kids faces before the party! Face painting is pretty simple if you are sure about what your painting. I did spiderwebs on everyones cheeks at the party and they all loved it and thought it was a great activity. I like the paint and it worked fine... you can strech it a little further if you add a couple drops of water! I ended up using makeup sponges because the ones provided didnt hold up well and getting some small fine paint brushes worked much better than using the ones it came with. Overall I was very pleased and cant beat the price!

Snazaroo Face Paints . My nephew and I had a great time with these face paints. My only complaint is that the paints arrived with no black or white in the color pallet. Most of the sample faces included in the brochure used black and white and I was disappointed these basic colors were not included. The paints washed off easily.

worked great in the upper 90 degree weather . These paints are smooth and worked out great in 90 plus weather. They became softer and were still easy to use and remained on the faces of the little ones running around in the sun. Tray made it so easy to use and a little does go a long long way.

Great for first time face painter . I bought this kit so that I could use it at my twin's 3rd birthday party. It was SO easy to use. It says it comes with enough to paint 50 full faces, but I was skeptical when I saw the tiny quarter size paint cakes. But I'm sure it's true! I did about 10 basic designs before the party to get a handle on it. You can't even tell that I have used them.

Awesome . My 6 year old daughter kept seeing tv commericals for Snazaroo, and, after having had her face painted in Disney World, she begged me to try the paints. I had never done face painting and knew nothing about different brands or techniques. For kicks I ordered the 8 color sparkle kit along with some white and black. I have to say the paint is everything we wanted and more. It blends easily, dries fast, and stays on. The day we got the kit I ended up painting my daughter and 2 of her neighborhood friends. The paint is just so easy to use, even for a novice. It covered better than any halloween make up we've ever tried, and looked fantastic, even hours later. And it was NO trouble getting off - I didn't even have to use soap. My daughter wanted to be a white dog with black spots, and even the black came off right away without staining the skin. I am amazed at how affordable it is considering the quality of the product. I am looking forward to trying the stencils and stamps next. Finally, a kid friendly product that is exactly what it advertises itself to be. I would most definitely recommend this product to anyone of any age, and everyone on my block is now Snazaroo crazy!

Colors missing . This 8 color pallet only came with 6. It was missing black and blue. Still plan on using, but will have to buy another brand to get the colors I need. Would not recommend purchasing this item.

Lots of fun! . My 4 year old daughter was really excited about this present. We have a lot of fun using these paints. I like the instruction book with it, however you really have to have a bit of practice to achieve great results. For a bit of home fun, it is good enough. Oh, I would have liked to have black colour with it too.

Great product! . This brand of face paint is great and easy to use. Non irritating to the kids face. Professional quality. Don't make the mistake of getting cheap brands or using craft paint. This is the way to go! It doesn't seem like a lot of paint (quantity) but paints a lot of faces.

Duh... . From the picture it kind looks like black and white are included. But they are not! I should have read the description better. Now I have to buy more. It is kind of pearly, some colors seem more pearlized or they just show up better than others.

Nice Unique Art Tools For the Price . I bought these alongside some mini-coloring books for my eldest daughter's stocking this year (she's almost five). I was immediately not-so-wowed by the consistency of them. They are in fact more crayon-like than pencil like, but seem to be almost waxier in a hard sort of way --- the end result is that the colors don't go onto paper vividly, they are far more muted than a crayon - or even a high quality colored pencil.

Because we have an art shelf set up in our kitchen, I was actually pleased with the little tube they come in. We removed the plastic inside and use it sort of like cardboard pencil cup (same with the crayons, which we also own).

My daughter seems to enjoy using these a great deal, despite the muted colors. I think she views them as being more grown up - because of their pencil-like appearance - than the fatter, triangular crayons her sister received in her stocking. I'd say she's had them down from the art shelf at least once a day since receiving them. And that's the point, really - that she enjoy using them.

The only other drawback with these 'pencils' is that it takes almost nothing to break them. One has been broken already after a roll-dive from the table top (less than a week's time) and I imagine the others will soon follow.

In terms of materials - these do seem to be made of a petroleum-type wax (based on the slight odor) but they are not offensively scented. They are also made in Spain, rather than China - a detail I appreciate and which was pretty much the sole reason I bought them.

In summary - not a disappointing purchase, not a 'wow!' purchase, but a good deal for the money spent on them and an ideal stocking stuffer.

It was ok . They were a little pricey but for the color variety it was worth it also they break really easily so not recommended for little kids. Btw they aren't really colored pencils just a skinny waxy crayon.

Disappointed with Amazon today one star service . I like the color pencils but the packaging sucked. The four star review is for the product. I'd like to give a one star to Amazon today. One color pencil was missing and one was broken when the package arrived. It was a book package clumsily covered with tape. Amazon customer service sucked even more when I contacted them. You would think they want to keep their customers happy. They were giving me a dollar refund or wanted me to go to post office for a pack of color pencils! I didn't take either option, I was so mad. They seriously need to do better to keep regular customers happier or we'll start looking elsewhere.Pencils are unique, really nice and classy looking. I used to do scrapbook work; this is excellent for the "finale" touches when you don't want to use a gel pen, ink, crayon, or yet when it comes to a point when a colored pencil just won't do. This WORKS!It can actually create an embellishment look without any embellishments in it, no more lumpy-bumpy, especially when one's working on a project of creating a dramatic photo album where the needs of flatness is a must but yet one can achieve the 2-D and 3-D effect in a whole new realm if you have never tried these before.This is a Holiday gift to a special someone who loves to do scrapbook, yet, is tired of the same old, same old - that special someone is in for a surprise!Here's some tips and tricks:Borders: These after having cut out the thin colored paper for frame around the photo;
a) hole punchers after glued on and dried, can be shaded or colored or outlined (etc.)

Love these colored pencils! . I've bought a ton of these colored pencil sets to pair with coloring books as birthday gifts for my children's friends. I love the colors, packaging and ease of use. The fact that they're made in Europe is a plus and looks like they're from a boutique children's toy store. I'll buy more!

Nice but not lots of color . Very nice looking colored pencil set however the pencils are small (thin and short) and not lots of color comes out. You have to press really hard to write with them, even for me. We kept them because they didn't seem worth returning, but there must be better nice colored pencil sets out there.

Stylish Color Pencils . I love this colors. I am a college students and I needed colors for my biology class so i decided to purchase these and I love them! They do they job with style! It almost seems like if they are colors from the future just because you don't seem them shaped this way.

Why don't they make ALL colored pencils like this?! . LOVE these pencils! No more endless sharpening of colored pencils, only to resharpen a few minutes later when the lead breaks. Even my very young children can color easily with these. It's also nice to take them with us on trips without worry about constant resharpening. It's hard to imagine ever going back to the wood-encased variety. As for the price, I think it's entirely fair -- maybe even a bargain, considering half of the traditional colored pencils gets wasted during the sharpening process. We've not had trouble with the packaging. The cylinder works nicely as a pencil jar. Besides, the box packaging with traditional colored pencils never holds up well for long in our house. We received two sets as gifts, and I just ordered 2 more! Genius product!

Cons Review

Great new concept -- would be perfect if case was better . My 3-year old daughter really loves these. We take them everywhere, but they are especially useful for travel on airplanes because they don't roll around as much. That said, the case isn't very good. We lost part of it on our first trip and it isn't very easy to get the pencils out of it. That is why I removed a star.

Great package for restaurants . I went to a restaurant a few weeks back and they gave my children a small pack of half-sized Wikki Stix instead of the obligate crayons that end up broken, eaten, or under the table. One very wonderful hour later, I realized the hubby and myself had actually managed to have a conversation because the kids were still engaged. We literally wore those little stix out.

This school fun kit comes in a handy clear zippered pouch that can easily slide behind one of the kids at a restaurant. The stix are separated in manageable groups (about the size of a small sandwich bag) on what looks like wax paper. There are large cut-outs of purple fish and yellow butterflies. I was a little disappointed thinking there would be more variety, but this appears to be packaged for a daycare or school setting. There is a very nice idea book, with places inside the kids can decorate with their stix - e.g. Easter eggs, license plate.

These have been stuck to the windows of my car and various walls leaving behind no problematic residue. The color does not appear to transfer. I have not left them in the car to find out if they would melt - I guess they would (wax). In any event - they get thumbs up from my 4 year old and my 10 year old - and mom and dad too - who could really use some quality chat time.

Update: After forgetting a pack of soda in my car and subsequently having to strip the car down to clean, I discovered a few of these in my daughter's seat. So, no, apparently they hold up fine (much better than cans of soda) in hot cars. Good to know.

Mom of a crafty guy. . My just-turned-five year old loves to draw and make things. He saw Bendaroos on television and was begging for them for his birthday. I purchased Wikki Stix based on reviews on Amazon and because of Amazon's super saver shipping. He was thrilled and his bedroom wall is covered with a garden (yes, flowers everywhere) of Wikki Stix as well as his name, a basketball hoop and a soccer goal.

A very versatile toy . We purchased this product because it was so similar to Bendaroos, which is something our children had wanted. They were unaware that this was a different brand mainly because they've had so much fun with the Wikki Stix, still calling them Bendaroos of course.

I think the primary reason the kids like them so much is that the toy's purpose is open to creative interpretation. We have Wikki Stix on doors, on paper, on the wall, on lamp shades, etc., and the only limit to what they can be is a child's imagination. Overall a really solid and fairly inexpensive toy.

Where Have These Been All My Life??? . My kids and I love these. So easy to use! No fuss, no mess...no cleanup! We've already had to reorder. Their friends now want them. You can't go wrong with these.

Good for creative play . I like these. I read a lot of reviews before buying them. I wanted the bendaroos but Wiki Stix actually had parent awards and Bendaroos had bad reviews but none for Wiki Stix. Some reviewer said they bought both and they are exactly the same. So, I'm not sure why the difference in reviews. Most of them I read had to do with purchasing and not with the product itself. Anyway, they are good. They feel a little sticky but nothing stays on your hands. My son is 3 and if I play with him we will play with them for a while but his level of creativity is not like an older child. I imagine the older you get, the longer these might hold the attention span. He has had fun with these and his friend. So I guess like anything else, playing with someone else is more fun. They are a no mess toy. It looks like just a little bit as you open the package, but it's quite a lot. If you like to try to find non frilly toys that can be used in a hundred ways, its uses wont burn out, you can use it for education, battery-less, then add these to your collection. God bless =)

Fun for a group . We used this for an activity at my daughter's 7th birthday party. There are cut-outs of butterflies and fish, and we gave each child a cut-out and 10 wikki stix. It kept them busy a long time. As one child left, she said, "That was the most fun birthday party ever!"

This is the kind of activity you pull out occasionally and play with a long time, not a use-every-day kind of toy. It comes with a booklet of ideas, but my kids (13, 7, 5) weren't too impressed with the suggestions. We've used both Wikki Stix and Bendaroos, and neither are quite as cool as the Bendaroo commercials make them look, but they are fun. Wikki Stix have a smaller diameter than Bendaroos, which is the only real difference we noticed.

My one suggestion is that you are careful about cutting the stix for crafts. The stix are reusable, but once cut are pretty much garbage can fodder.

Wikki Stix After School Fun Kit . This was purchased as a gift for my daughter. She's very happy with it. It's a decent set of waxed string in both primary and bright colors, and it comes with some accessories plus a nice case to keep it all in. This is really a nice, creative craft that kiddos or adults can do anytime (home, car, waiting in a restaurant, babysitters house, etc) without creating a mess. I'm pleased with this purchase.

MORE PRODUCT LESS PACKAGING . Entertaining for children six and under. I made the mistake of purchasing the After School Fun Kit thinking it would nice for each child to have their own bag. The kit comes with a couple of templates, but who wants to use the same templates over and over? If I had it to do over I would purchase the big box to get more product and let the children us their own imagination.

Excellent mess-free fun . My kids (9 and 5) love their Wikki Stix. It's very easy for both of them to make things with them, and they don't leave a mess behind. I especially love the storage pouch, which keeps everything corralled when they're done! I'd highly recommend these if your kids are into arts & crafts.

The cats LOVE it! . This was a great deal! $5 for endless kitty amusement.

I really like the stems, they are a little fluffy and the striped colors are excellent. If I was still making pipe-cleaner animals I'd choose these over the plain colors. However, the purpose for this batch was to entertain my 4 cats (1 kitten). Scrunch the stems so they are springy, or just throw them on a slippery surface, and the cats will chase them all over the place. I was a little worried they might try to chew the ends and hurt themselves, but this hasn't been a problem. (They do like chewing them, but it seems safe.) I also gave some to a friend with 2 cats, and his cats also go wild over the stems. The stems don't really wear out, so as long as you can fish them out from under the fridge they should last for ages.

A fantastic buy!

Lots of fun . I loved shrinky dinks as a kid and thought that my arts and crafts loving daughter (5 years old) would love it too. She did! I bought this kit today at a local store, and she couldn't wait to start coloring the ornaments...and it's not even Halloween yet! She also enjoyed watching the ornaments shrink in the oven and decorating the tree with the colorful stickers. I highly recommend this kit.

Great Christmas craft activity! . My two children (ages 5 and 7) had a lot of fun coloring the shrinky dinks and then watching them shrink in the oven. The finished product looked great on the dining room table. Not sure it will hold up in storage until next year though.

Evening of Fun . Kids completed this in an evening - they enjoyed coloring the shrinky dinks and sitting in front of the stove watching them shrink. Fun and cute craft for a family project.

Fun Christmas activity . I bought this Shrinky Dink Christmas Tree for my kids to do together before Christmas. Each kid (ages 21 down to 5 years old) had a great time decorating ornaments and watching them shrink in the oven. The finished product was adorable and was a fun bonding moment for the kids.
I would advise an adult or older teen supervision during oven use and for the glitter glue used on tree skirt.

So classic and fun! . I just did this with my 5 and 2 year old boys. The two year old didn't care much for the coloring, but enjoyed watching them 'shrink'. Super fun and satisfying. Great afternoon pre-Christmas project. And we plan on displaying it for years to come!

This was a hit! . My nieces (4 & 6) loved the fancy velvet tree, glitter pen, and, obviously, the shrinky dinks! Their mother loved it because, while she had to help, she didn't have to make it for them. Pre-cut shrinky dinks cut down on the "waiting for a grown-up to help me" time, and the girls were very proud of the finished results. It's a fun project that is great for really creative kids or kids that worry about it "looking right."

Wonderfully surprised by quality and fun! . This was my first experience with "shrinky dinks" and I loved it! I bought this to do with my 6 year old son. We had a blast. Just opening the package, I loved how everything was indvidually packaged, as there were alot of components to it. The instructions were very clear and simple and precise. The pictures, or "ornaments", to color were very cute and fun. My son and I loved watching them bake and shrink up. And we had even more fun "decorating" the tree. While there were a few things that I had to do, there was plenty for for my son to do to keep him busy. Everything was great quality and I couldn't be happier with it. It definitely seems sturdy enough to be able to put away and bring out for several years to come. I see more shrinky dink purchases in my future.

Cute and functional! . I bought this for my 4 year old niece and she did like it (well, let's face it, she likes all things pink). Great construction and durable material. I was worried that the apron strings would be too short but they were perfect.
