Very cool... . Wow, what a cool toy. My 3 1/2 year-old loved it - and even I was amazed to find that the car actually does follow any line or swirly maze you create on the mat. My only complaint is that the car tends to turn off fairly quickly. We like to take our time drawing up a cool path for Diego and Dora to follow, so we're always having to turn the jeep over to switch it back on again.

Other than that minor issue, it's a very cool and creative toy.

somewhat disappointed . My daughter is a Dora fan and I thought this would be a great Christmas gift. She likes using it, but becomes frustrated because the car doesn't seem to follow the lines very well and/or turns off too quickly. I think the mat is great; the added feature of the car was something that isn't living up to expectations.

Great idea but still not much fun . I got this hoping my 20 month old daughter, who LOVES to scribble and draw, would stay away from the crayons and pens and find this just as fun...and less messy, as she tries to color all over everything when she's given paper and a pen/crayon. It works great, color disappears after a good amount of time. The stand up stencils of the house, bush, tree, Swipper, Boots and baby Jaguar are all plastic (better then I was expecting). The pad is a nice big size. The car is heavy and bigger then I expected it to be...but I'm afraid to let my 20 month old pick it up. She trys "wheeling" it around like a normal car and it worries me that she'll break the sensor underneath it. The car DOES follow the water paths very well though. I'm impressed with how it works. When it doesn't have a trail to follow it wonders around for a while before turning itself off- trying to find it.

The problems I've encountered within a few weeks of using it have been these:
1. My DD has gotten it pretty dirty. There's dirt smudges on it and it's not very easy to clean...directions say to take a sponge to it softly but that doesn't get off the dirt very much. Too much water will probably ruin it.
2. It's very large, and when you fold it to put it away it leaves dents in the pad when you unfold it- which knocks the car off track and makes it harder to color nicely.
3. My DD threw up on it a little bit...referring to problem 1, it's not easy to clean...and now it's splattered with blue marks. Probably from the oil in the bit of throw up she had. I tried to sponge it off, but I think some oil was left behind. I'll be trying to sponge those areas again soon to see if I can get the oil loose, but I'm terrified of ruining it more...especially with how expensive this pad was.
4. My DD would still prefer a pen and paper. When I pull this out for her she just messes around, scribbles a little bit, and gets kinda bored unless I'm coloring for her... with a paper and pen she'll scribble, and scribble..and scribble. I was hoping Dora being on it would make her love scribbling on this thing, but it's just not her favorite. The pen is quite large, made to hold the water in the base, and she just doesn't like it. Instead she tries to drink the water through the tip.

Great gift . This was a Christmas gift for our grand-daughter. She loves both Dora and Aquadoodle and having them both combined in this gift was a big hit. Thanks.

Fun and Reusable . The jeep actually works very well, and also shuts off if not in use for a few minutes, which is very helpful with an easily distracted toddler! That said, she hasn't used the toys that come with this too much other than the first week or so when she got it, but she uses the doodle pad all the time. It's big enough that I can sit and draw with her and that adds to the fun for us! She really loves all the aquadoodle products and I would recommend them all for toddlers. They are mess free, reusable for a long time, and loads of fun!

Fun! . If your kids are Dora and Diego fans, I believe that they will love this product. It's really fun and especially no mess that good for both parents and kids.

It's cool! . Our three-year-old thought it was Cool! Fairly easy to do and requires no clean up!

Cons Review

Great for quiet playtime . WE bought this for our granddaughter who will turn 4 next month. She just loves Dora and this toy was a great choice to offer her the opportunity to take what she knows about Dora and mix it with her own imagination.

5 stars and lots of fun! . I don't know how Dora and Diego follow the line me and my son draw on the mat, but it's so fun and I enjoy watching my son create the route he wants Dora and Diego to take!

Not as pictured! . Crayola now offers markers made from recycled plastic. All markers are black! I purposely ordered these because they were picutred on the site to be the original white plastic with the colored stripes that match the caps. It is very difficult for students to grab the right color (assuming more than one have the caps off). It also makes it difficult to get the caps back on the right marker. Not always does the tip appear to be the color it does on paper. I am disappointed that I received the ones I was trying to avoid getting.

Love it! . My hubby and I decided to splurge on the easel. We figure we were going to buy one anyway, why not just get the one that comes with the tower? We are so gald we did! This is a quality chalkboard that works perfectly right out of the box- no 'seasoning' and sillyness like I have seen with others. Even the cheap chalk shows up well! Our little girl is very short, and she can reach it to draw. We have the chalkboard side out, and we placed a cup of Crayola pip squeek markers on the tower platform. When she gets tired of helping moma in the kitchen, she sits down and draws. It is nice that she can still use both sides of the easel. Is comes with a VERY STROMG magnet that sticks to both sides to hold paper. I have not tried it yet, but I can't imagine the paper could possibly slip out! It also came with a kit to hang it on the wall later on- bonus!
My only complaint would be that it did not come with cups to go in the holes. I did find that the little metal pails in the cheapie section at Target fit well, but could not find a color that looked decent. I would buy this again in a heartbeat!

Good with Some Reservations . I'm glad we got the easel for my 2yr old son to use with his learning tower. We've loved the learning tower and getting the easel only made it better. Overall I think it's great but there are three things about it that I find mildly irritating:

1. There are holes drilled to hold containers for the chalk but it doesn't come with containers to go in those holes. So after we got it I had to try to find cups that would fit those holes for the chalk. It would be nice if toys designed for parents of young children didn't force a shopping expedition for another accessory after they arrived. So far we've found one cup that fit but are still searching for another.

2. There's a white board on the other side of the chalkboard so I also bought markers so we could reverse it. It looks like it should be easy to reverse but I don't think you can do it without a screwdriver to remove and flip the container that holds the chalk or markers. Again, not a deal breaker but disappointing that it isn't as flexible as I thought it was.

3. Finally, it's a minor hazard for a curious little toddler. There's a handle on the top of the easel to make it easy to remove it or turn it (which really isn't necessary because you can't turn it easily anyway as discussed in point 2). This handle is right at the level where my son's hands rest when he's standing in the learning tower so it of course caught his attention. He got his hand stuck in it at first and then we got concerned that he might hurt himself if he moved the wrong way with his hand pinned under this handle. We tried to remove the handle but because of the way it's installed we can't do that. So instead ours is covered over with duct tape. It's also very easy for the easel to get accidentally kicked while standing in learning tower. I've found this leads to some combination of the following three things -- chalk everywhere, fear because it made a loud noise, or more kicking because it made an interesting noise. The kicking hasn't been a major problem but I wish there were an easier way to deal with the handle problem on the top but I guess duct tape works even if it isn't pretty.

Overall I like the easel and would buy it again but it would be great if these problems were fixed because we haven't been using it much for the last several months because of these problems.

Best Space Saver and overall play toy. . I purchased the art easel for my 2 yr old and she LOVES IT! We put the whiteboard side out and she uses the crayola washable pip squeaks markers on it and they work great. I just use a baby wipe to clean everything, her, the easel and markers off of our wood floor. It also did not take up any extra space in our house since it fits on the learning tower we already had. I definitely did not want to take up more floor space with an art easel.

Great addition to the "learning tower" . I gave this easel Little Partners Natural Art Easel, along with dry eraser markers, to my granddaugher for Christmas this year. She LOVES IT! Now her "learning tower" Little Partners LP00401 Learning Tower, Natural includes opportunities to draw, write, and create in the kitchen with Mommy. What a great idea to further the versatility of learning tower! In a very small space, a child can climb, help Mommy, imagine all kinds of things, and now express themselves through drawings and written words.

Finally found what I was looking for! . My son has cerebral palsy (blanket term for brain injury.) He'll be five soon and is just learning to walk. In order to strengthen his core for walking he needs to spend time knee standing. I've been looking for a long time for an easel that is super stable so that if he were to accidentally lean forward on it while on his knees (he loses his balance a lot) it wouldn't tip over. This easel fits the bill perfectly! The added bonus is that it doesn't take up any more space in my house because we already own The Learning Tower! I was worried about having to use tape to get paper to stay up but it comes with a really strong, long magnet that holds large sheets of paper up perfectly! My other two children (ages two and seven) love this easel as well! I highly recommend the Little Partners Art Easel.

Works for twins! . I am a big fan of the Learning Tower. It is one of the best purchases I have made for my four year twins. When I first saw the Easels, I was curious if we would be able to use two at the same time on one Learning Tower. Let me answer that question right away. TWO Easels WILL fit on one Learning Tower. I couldn't find this info anywhere and was a little peeved that Little Partners never returned my email to answer this question. They easily hang on the side and there is also a hook to secure them on the bottom. They fit well and stay tight.

We got two red easels although our Learning Tower is natural. In retrospect, I would get natural. We have already had a couple of very small scratches in the red (I believe I have heard the same thing about the painted Learning Towers). The ledge at the bottom of the Easel comes off and reattaches to switch from chalk to white board so I feel that more scratches are probably going to happen. For that reason, the natural might hold up better, but I couldn't resist the red. The red is pretty but it is bright, a little brighter than I pictured (not cherry, but fire engine).

The assembly was very quick and easy. My husband didn't even complain and he hates putting stuff together.

Both sides of the easel are magnetic and there is a SUPER strong magnetic strip for hanging paper to use it that way. I didn't see that info mentioned in the item descriptions, and it works great.

Wall mounting hardware is included. Frankly, I don't think my husband would ever let me hang something so heavy on our walls but at least it is an option.

The chalkboard works great. No seasoning needed whatsoever, which is a relief.

The height of the Easel is kind of short. My kids can stand at it now (they are tall for their age), but it will be a little short for them in the next couple years. I think a little stool will work fine though, and I still prefer this over a stand-alone easel since it is using the existing Learning Tower footprint.

Also, keep in mind that the Easel is perpendicular to the floor. There is no "tilt" like a traditional Easel. Not sure how much difference this makes to my kids who haven't ever had an Easel.

It is a little bit of a pain to switch the shelf beneath the Easel from one side to the next. You have to wiggle it out and reinsert on the other side. I wish that they included some kind of cup in the holes, but possibly they were designed for pre-filled paint cups? I have found that a cheap plastic kids cup from a restaurant fits well and can hold water, paint, brushes, or chalk.

Having one Easel on the Learning Tower all the time might work fine, but with two it makes it really heavy. All that means, is that I take them off while we are using the Learning Tower for other things. Plus the ledge poking out would keep it from coming close to the counter. Again, one alone could be kept on the opposite side and might work fine.

Overall, I really like it. For us, it works much better than a full-size easel which would really take up too much space. I think they are well made and very nice looking. I don't think that the Easel is as much of a design and manufacturing wonder as the Learning Tower itself, but I would probably give it a strong four out of five stars.

Great gift for grandkids . We purchased this for our 2 granddaughters, ages 3 & 1. They love it. We also bought the art easel for it. Since they have so much stuff & are hard to buy for, everyone on our side of the family chipped in which made it a very inexpensive gift that would be used.

Well worth the money according to our daughter.

Must-Have Accessory . The easel was almost an afterthought to our Learning Tower purchase, but it was a great choice. At this point we have only used the dry-erase side for its magnetic capabilities, but we know we will use all of the features in the coming months and years.

Awesome Easel . We love our Little Partners Art Easel; it fits perfectly with the Learning Tower and was easy to assemble (it took under 30 mins). I love that the easel tray for paint and holding chalk is easy to attach and detach when switching from dry erase board to chalk board and that the easel comes with a piece that gives you the option to attach the easel to the wall. This art easel was a great choice for us since we are short on space and we like our kids toys to be functional yet public space appropriate.

wonderful product . I have two year old twins and they love this. They love drawing on the chalkboard and dry erase side. As a bonus the dry erase markers have come off the wood so far when they've enthusiastically colored on more than just the board part. That was a pleasant surprise. Good size for them. Nothing bad to say about this product.

TONS of fun... design could be better . My 2-1/2 year old son ADORES this, although some of the tools are still a bit sophisticated for his age. He will play with it for up to an hour, which is longer than he stays engaged with anything else. It really stimulates his creativity. In addition to all the tools, the playset/carrier itself has reliefs (moon, star, etc.) you can use to mold Play-Doh shapes. The latch on the playset is tight and takes some strength for even an adult to open/close, and the cans of Play-Doh don't fit snuggly enough into the carrier... so they fall out if you try to carry the set around by the handle. It's hard to fit all the tools back into the compartments, and overall the set's a bit unwieldy to store or carry. We've since bought other Play-Doh sets that are less bulky but equally entertaining.

Love this set! . I purchased this set for my 3 yr. old grandson for Xmas and he loves it. It is his favorite gift. He plays for hours with this. This set is great for developing and strengthening fine motor skills as well as developing tactile play. The pieces do fit inside the compartments but does require adult assistance. Too big and doesn't work too well . We are not impressed with this playdough set. Storage compartment is hard to open and barely fits the tools it came with. Tools are decent variety. The tools at the front, the shape pusher and the head are great concepts, but they don't work well. It takes a LOT of muscle to push the playdough through, not possible to do by a toddler. The shape is even worse than the head because it doesn't fit lot of playdough and you only get a short shape noodle. The head is cute, but both have so much room on the inside, lot of playdough gets stuck in it and the dough tends to get stuck in the holes. The only way to get it out is to let it try, then shake. or you could use a sharp object like a thin stick, but who wants that around toddlers? Definitelly not safe. And the shape molds on the container would be great, but if you mold a letter, it is a mirror image. You can see it correctly on the container and mirror image on the playdough, It should be the other way round to my opinion. And it takes so much room, we don't have much room left on our play table if we put this there. So, this ended up in the closet except some of the tools that we still use, hence the two stars and not one. The playdough storage is a nice idea, but really, not necessary. It only fits 5 containers anyway. Waste of money.

ART EASEL DESK Reviews - A perfect place to create a masterpiece with room to share! The Art Easel Desk is a desk with plenty of storage, plus a sturdy easel with a supply shelf and art clip.

Super cute! . The Art Easel Desk possesses all the qualities I've come to know and love about the Step 2 company's products. They make products that hold up even with the toughest kids. Believe me I know. Assembly was really easy, but somewhat time consuming. Getting the screws through the hard plastic will take some muscle. I don't consider myself all that savvy when it comes to putting things together or to have much in the muscles department, but I had this up and ready to use in about 45 minutes. The instructions have nicely illustrated pictures and everything is labeled with a letter. I loved how easy they were to follow. This desk is recommended for ages 1 1/2 + I honestly think a child under 2 would be too tiny to really enjoy this. Size wise this is perfect for kids between the ages of 2-5. My 6 year old is even enjoying it, but she is too big to really use the desk side. It is very stable unlike some of the table and chair sets made for toddlers. I don't think this would have any tipping issues. I love the hidden compartment under the small whiteboard. It is a great place to stow crayons and a coloring book. The other organizer keeps markers handy and within reach. If there were bins underneath I'd consider this the perfect starter desk for toddlers and preschoolers.This is all around durable product, and exactly what you'd expect from Step 2.

Desktop could be bigger otherwise okay. . I am totally inept when it comes to building things, so I saved it for my husband. Maybe he made it look easy, but it only took him about 15 minutes with an automatic screwdriver and I didn't hear any swearing so I figured that was a good sign. Like with other Step2 products, it seems very sturdy.My son knew it was for him and went over to it immediately upon completion. However, he had a bit of trouble getting his legs over and inside the desk. He's almost 3 but is above the 100th percentile in both height and weight (40" tall and 41#), so he's a big kid--probably about the size of at least a normal 4 or 5 year old--and he seems to be almost too big for this desk. Yes he can sit at the desk, but it takes a bit of finagling and it looks a bit awkward.I think the desktop itself could be just a bit larger. It won't even fit a regular-sized coloring book--so the book has to sit cockeyed on it or you have to shove it between the sides so the ends curl up. Also, the holes for markers/pencils/crayons is neat, but I feel it's a bit too shallow for markers and the holes are a bit too big for crayons (but not big enough for two) so you really can't fit that many in there. Books do fit behind the marker stand but not in the desk itself (under the lid). We don't have a lot of space so thought this was a good option. We'll see how much my son actually uses it, as it's been together for about five days and he's played at it three times for maybe a total of 15 minutes.

Well Designed Product . We bought this easel for our 3 yr old nephew who loves to draw and paint. My husband assembled it prior to giving it to him as a gift, and setup was easy, only taking about 10 minutes. It seems very sturdy, and although it was smaller than I expected, it is more than adequate for a young child. However, our nephew is of average size, and I think the desk might be outgrown fairly quickly. His 5 year old older sister is already too large for the desk.Our nephew loves using the easel. Best for ages 1 to 4 . This is a sturdy little plastic desk and easel combination best suited for ages 1 to 4. We tried it in a small classroom with ages 1 to 7. The desk is sized best for ages 2-4 and the easel for ages 1-3. Older than that would either hunch over at the desk or be too tall for the easel, which is just under 3 feet tall. While slightly larger children could still use it for shorter periods, if you are shopping for someone older than 4 look for something more appropriate.For the younger children, the desk and easel worked well and it was nice and sturdy. It was pretty much what we expected, as we have a similar desk (without easel) made by Today's Kids. We (and the children) really like that this can be used by 2 children at once.Assembly was fairly simple. It is held together by a bunch of screws that you poke through a hole in once piece into a dimple in the other, and push hard enough to start a new hole. Be careful not to over-tighten; there isn't much resistance when fully tight so watch to see when the screw is all the way in. It does require a bit of force to start a new hole, and be sure to push the screw in straight so it starts correctly.Both whiteboards (one on the desk and one for the easel) arrived chipped around the edges, which was disappointing.This is a small and stable desk which doesn't take up much room; however, note that it does NOT "fold for easy storage" as the product description on amazon states.Recommended for small children.

Great Desk/Easel for younger children . Step 2 has made another great product. This Art Easel Desk is perfect for the little budding artist. It features a white board with a clip on one side that also has a little shelf to store markers, etc. The desk side of the easel is perfect for coloring. The desk lifts up for more storage and there is also storage above for markers and coloring books. This desk is best suited for younger children. This desk is almost too small for my 4-year old (he is big for his age). Assembly is fairly easy and I would recommend a power screw driver because it is a lot easier. The unit is fairly compact so it is great for smaller homes. Highly recommend!

The perfect desk for my 2yr old! . I've long been a fan of Step2 products, with a 7 1/2yr old and almost 2yr old we've owned many. I prefer natural materials for most of my childrens toys when appropriate but when it comes to art desks, slides, etc nothing beats the quality or construction and the lasting value of Step2... I swear you could drop one from a roof or off a truck and it would bounce down and be perfect. When my older daughter was a toddler we bought her the step2 art desk, I thought it was great but quickly realized that it was really too big (she'd try to climb on it to reach the markers and crayons stored on top, it took up a huge amount of space) and that the chair being separate meant that she was either dragging it around to get into trouble (using it to climb onto things) or falling off it when trying to climb on it to reach the top of the desk. When I saw this option for my 2yr old I knew I found the perfect first art desk. It's much more compact, yes the surface is little... but so is my 2yr old! I love that the seat is built in so she can't topple backwards or drag the chair away. The easel on the other side is a wonderful use of space and the whole thing fits in a small space and is light enough for me to move around as needed. By the time my daughter outgrows this desk she'll be ready to sit at the actual table to do her drawings and coloring. Way to go Step2 on another great product!

A very fun solution for kid's creativity . As a parent of four children, I'm always on the lookout for creative art solutions for them. We have a small space in our townhome, so we can't always go with huge easels and other art solutions. So that's why we love this art easel desk. It's nice in that at least two kids can be occupied at the same time. One can sit and the other can stand. If your kids are younger, you might even get two at the desk. We also like the storage space underneath the desk/drawing area. This allows you to store your markers and other art utensils. Also, this is made of durable, flexible plastic--kid friendly--so they won't get hurt when they bump into it and it won't snap or crack. It's also just the right size. IT won't take up a ton of room, especially if you have a small space. Lastly, the instructions were surprisingly easy. It was a snap to put together. I highly recommend this art station.

Great easel/desk with a small footpring . This is a neat solution for smaller spaces, the desk and easel combo combine two things that take up the space of one. I was disappointed that the eraser board slat for the easel was dinged pretty badly right out of the box. This is a major bummer, but I am going to call Step2's customer service to see if they will send a replacement. Other than that, I am really happy with it.

Suitable for kids shorter than 3 feet . I own several Step2 products. Art Easel Desk offers similar quality product at a reasonable price. While it isn't as future proof as more expensive products such as Alex My Art Desk with Paper Roll, but it is perfectly cute, durable, and functional for younger kids.Step2's Art Easel Desk is easy to put together, minus few "oops, that goes over there" hiccups. My 3 year old son enjoyed building it together in about 30 minutes. The easel desk consists of two parts: (1) activity desk and (2) easel.First, the desk. My son is 38 inches tall and it is all too small for him to sit comfortably. I would say the desk is usable for kids 32 inches or shorter. In addition, it can be a bit difficult for younger kids (18 months to 2 year) to get in and out on their own. Although the desk is more durable than it appears, the paper-based drawing pad may wear out if it gets too wet (e.g., oil painting).Second, the easel. The easel is also too short for taller kids. It's suitable for kids 34 inches or shorter. The easel pad is also paper-based. Step2 missed the opportunity to substitute magnet friendly metal pad.All in all, Step2's art easel desk is good in concept but marred by small size. Integrated chair is very nice and the product occupies very small space. But for those with tall kids, I recommend getting more future proof products instead.

Lightweight but fun . My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday. I love that it folds flat, but we usually leave it up in his room because he plays with it so often. It is very lightweight, and sometimes when he is drawing the easel tilts backwards. Other than that he really enjoys playing with it. It's definitely been one of his most favorite gifts! And as a side note, this easel does NOT come with any chalk.

Awesome . Both my daughters ages ten and three love this product. My three year old enjoys practicing her alphabet and drawing pictures.

Child's Art Easel . This is great. It is very easy to assemble and seems sturdy. My kids love it. There are two things that would make it better: a drawer to store the magnetic letters, eraser, etc that comes with the easel and a roll of art paper. It comes with magnetic letters, and eraser and two paint cups. You will need to purchase paper, dry erase markers and chalk in order to make it fully functional upon opening. Overall, my kids have thoroughly enjoyed it.

flimsy but she doesn't care she loves it! . easy enough to assemble you don't need the directions. i got this for $30 at TRU so I got what I paid for. It does what it says and it comes with super small magnets. My 16 month old loves to color and play with magnets (so I got her larger ones). It also comes with 2 pain cups, an eraser and I believe a small paintbrush. just make sure your kdis don't lean on it, it will fall over, there's no wieght to it.

Easy Easel . I bought this easel for my 23 month old nephew and he loves it! The magnetic letters are great and he continues to learn as he plays with them. He loves to draw and paint and this is a great height and set up for him!

Looks good a little overpriced. . This is a nice-looking table, and the double-sided activity board adds some variety. The legos that come with it are small and a little on the cheap side. They function fine, but real legos are better. The legos are also pretty small, so beware with younger toddlers. The train set is a nice basic train set- nothing fancy, but a good starter set. The magnets on the train cars are a little weak, so they don't pull well.

The assembly was easy, and the finished product looks great. Not an overwhelming hit, but a nice play surface for all kinds of activities.

Happy customer . I bought this for my toddler and she loves it. It comes with very small Lego pieces, so those are packed away until she is older, but I currently use Duplos and Mega Blocks with it and they work really well. This is a toy that will definitely grow with a child. And, it is attractive so it looks more like a piece of furniture than it does a toy. This is a great toy that is well worth the money.

Great product fast shipping . After doing quite a bit of research on Lego tables, I chose this one for my 5 year old son as a birthday present. He loves it, it was easy to assemble and is sturdy. It has a storage area underneath the table top, which is nice, and his legos snap in with no problem. The bonus train tracks, trains and legos that came with it made it more of a deal. The Legos that come with it are generic, but they work with the real ones and are fine. I was worried that the table was going to be too small, but it is large and he has plenty of room to play. It is the right height where he can either kneel on the floor or sit in a small chair to build.

Great activity table! . It looks really nice and has held up to my 2 year old climbing on it. Right now we're using it for a small train set. It's nice that the table has storage in it but it's a bit annoying to lift the top to get to anything.
