good toy for toddlers . We had a paper aquadoodle first, it was taped to the wall and lasted for about a year with my toddler daughter drawing on it almost everyday, until my 14 months son decided to rip it one day. We replaced it with this deluxe version. It appears to be made of a durable material that my son won't be able to rip off, but it also seems to not draw on as well as paper, but overall I still think it's an awesome product for toddlers who like to draw.

Aquadoodle . I bought this as a gift. Part of the reason I bought this one is because is advertised the sample of moon dough included but when I received it there was none included. This product is just the classic Aquadoodle and nothing else.

great product . Grandchildren had to play with this mat as soon as they opened it. They loved it, it kept them busy for an hour. Good purchase!

Perfectly Clean Mess . I love the idea of having creative kids, but am not in love with making a mess every time they want to pull out markers or paint. For young children still learning how to "stay inside the lines" or on the paper for that matter, this is a great fit. The mat has lasted years (I bought ours 3 years ago). I have since passed it on to a friend with younger kids. It's still going strong.

Very cool... . Wow, what a cool toy. My 3 1/2 year-old loved it - and even I was amazed to find that the car actually does follow any line or swirly maze you create on the mat. My only complaint is that the car tends to turn off fairly quickly. We like to take our time drawing up a cool path for Diego and Dora to follow, so we're always having to turn the jeep over to switch it back on again.

Other than that minor issue, it's a very cool and creative toy.

Tons of fun . This has been a lot of fun for my daughters. They love it and it's easy for them to play with. Not much else to say, it's easy to set up and will last forever.

somewhat disappointed . My daughter is a Dora fan and I thought this would be a great Christmas gift. She likes using it, but becomes frustrated because the car doesn't seem to follow the lines very well and/or turns off too quickly. I think the mat is great; the added feature of the car was something that isn't living up to expectations.

Great idea but still not much fun . I got this hoping my 20 month old daughter, who LOVES to scribble and draw, would stay away from the crayons and pens and find this just as fun...and less messy, as she tries to color all over everything when she's given paper and a pen/crayon. It works great, color disappears after a good amount of time. The stand up stencils of the house, bush, tree, Swipper, Boots and baby Jaguar are all plastic (better then I was expecting). The pad is a nice big size. The car is heavy and bigger then I expected it to be...but I'm afraid to let my 20 month old pick it up. She trys "wheeling" it around like a normal car and it worries me that she'll break the sensor underneath it. The car DOES follow the water paths very well though. I'm impressed with how it works. When it doesn't have a trail to follow it wonders around for a while before turning itself off- trying to find it.

The problems I've encountered within a few weeks of using it have been these:
1. My DD has gotten it pretty dirty. There's dirt smudges on it and it's not very easy to clean...directions say to take a sponge to it softly but that doesn't get off the dirt very much. Too much water will probably ruin it.
2. It's very large, and when you fold it to put it away it leaves dents in the pad when you unfold it- which knocks the car off track and makes it harder to color nicely.
3. My DD threw up on it a little bit...referring to problem 1, it's not easy to clean...and now it's splattered with blue marks. Probably from the oil in the bit of throw up she had. I tried to sponge it off, but I think some oil was left behind. I'll be trying to sponge those areas again soon to see if I can get the oil loose, but I'm terrified of ruining it more...especially with how expensive this pad was.
4. My DD would still prefer a pen and paper. When I pull this out for her she just messes around, scribbles a little bit, and gets kinda bored unless I'm coloring for her... with a paper and pen she'll scribble, and scribble..and scribble. I was hoping Dora being on it would make her love scribbling on this thing, but it's just not her favorite. The pen is quite large, made to hold the water in the base, and she just doesn't like it. Instead she tries to drink the water through the tip.

Great gift . This was a Christmas gift for our grand-daughter. She loves both Dora and Aquadoodle and having them both combined in this gift was a big hit. Thanks.

Fun and Reusable . The jeep actually works very well, and also shuts off if not in use for a few minutes, which is very helpful with an easily distracted toddler! That said, she hasn't used the toys that come with this too much other than the first week or so when she got it, but she uses the doodle pad all the time. It's big enough that I can sit and draw with her and that adds to the fun for us! She really loves all the aquadoodle products and I would recommend them all for toddlers. They are mess free, reusable for a long time, and loads of fun!

Fun! . If your kids are Dora and Diego fans, I believe that they will love this product. It's really fun and especially no mess that good for both parents and kids.

It's cool! . Our three-year-old thought it was Cool! Fairly easy to do and requires no clean up!

Cons Review

Great for quiet playtime . WE bought this for our granddaughter who will turn 4 next month. She just loves Dora and this toy was a great choice to offer her the opportunity to take what she knows about Dora and mix it with her own imagination.

5 stars and lots of fun! . I don't know how Dora and Diego follow the line me and my son draw on the mat, but it's so fun and I enjoy watching my son create the route he wants Dora and Diego to take!

Fun toy for a little girl... . My neice and I had so much fun playing with this toy when I got it for her. You can make some really cool stuff with all of the different pieces it comes with. My only complaint is that some of the little rings and stuff don't stay together that well, but a little dab of super glue would probably fix that problem straight away. My neice is about 9 or 10, I'm a bad aunt and don't keep up with these things, but she and I had a blast playing with this for hours.

Moon Sand . Moon Sand is not as bad as the reviews said! It sticks together very well, but the policeman mold does not work, but all the others do work! I suggest buying a single pack at Wal-Mart when buying this, because the amount is very small. It does get in places, but I keep Moon Sand in a special tray.

What a mess! . My 3-year old actually loves moon sand. And the monster truck concept is perfect fot this product. Since the molds crumble fairly easily, he has a ball creating the molds and destroying them with the truck.

That said, cleaning moon sand up is a headache. There's a mat that comes with this kit, but it's a completely worthless square of cardboard. I immediately realized the mess that would ensue and put all the moon sand in a cookie sheet. The mess was somehat contained, but not enough considering the enthusiasm of a three-year old.

Incidentally, there are two packs of moon sand. One pack is barely enough to fill one mold, so if you get this product, it might be a good idea to invest in an extra bag of sand.

Fun Alternative to Play Dough . I was a little skeptical at first but this is quite fun. It's an alternative to playdough and is quite fun. This kit comes with a few other items such as slides etc so you can create scenes. This moon sand doesn't run the risk of drying out like playdough or clay.

Moon Sand . This stuff is terrible and I would never buy it again. What a mess it makes.

Cons Review

Messy boring pointless! What a waste! . I wish I had read the reviews before I bought this! My 5 yr old and I can play for hours with playdough, but we lasted about 20 minutes with the Moonsand before we gave up. It is sooo messy! I had to change his shirt, pants, and socks afterwards, then vacuum the floor and table to get all the loose sand up. Even then, the sand is still ground into the grout lines of my tile floor. The molds make cute little characters, but you can't play with them, because they fall apart. And trying to make anything else is pointless because there is not enough (we even bought separate containers and still not enough) and the sand doesn't stick together to make freeform shapes. After awhile, my son looked at me and asked "what are we supposed to do with this stuff?" and then announced that it was too boring and can we get out the playdough. After another ten minutes of cleanup, I'm so frustrated and bummed out at the wasted money.

Yuck. Messy not much fun. . If you're going to let the kids play with this stuff in the house, you may as well let them use real sand. This stuff is really no less messy than real sand, and there really isn't enough of it to do too much with. The kiddos are FAR better off outside in the sandbox. If the weather's not nice, Play Dough is a much better bet. It's so much more fun, and the dough itself is sooo cheap.
This product is pretty much pointless.

"moon sand is a waste of money" . The title of my review is a direct quote from my 8 year old. I totally agree with the other reviews. it does not hold form as shown in all the commercials. I only give it 2 stars because it caused such excitement initially and it is a great alternative to TV. must cut review short to go sweep my floor. save your money and make it yourself or buy play-doh!!!

Don't trust the commercials . My 4 year old likes and enjoys this product, and asks to play with it all the time, but I hate it. Its a huge mess, it doesn't work as well as the commercials, sure it does press into mold shape, but the second you take them out and try to handle it, it crumbles. It also stick to your hands a lot, so some goes down the drain with every use. Not to mention that it doesn't shake off your clothes like regular sand, so you have to choose between washing it by itself or risking it with other items. Overall I wish I had just said no to buying it.

Has its merits but the mess cancels them out! . We just got this set, hacked open the vaccuum sealed box and were a bit disappointed to see that the moon sand comes in plastic bags, so you have to provide your own container. After the convenience of playdough coming in its own tubs, this is disappointing, especially when you consider that moonsand is considerably more expensive.

We unfolded the small cardboard play mat, assembled the plastic swing, and we were good to go. The plastic pieces are quite sturdy. It comes with two main push moulds, girl and boy, and two smaller ones hidden underneath the car. The cone worked well but the stop sign was too flimsy to stay together, and repeatedly broke. The pack shows you can use the moon sand to push into the school house panels to decorate it. It doesn't say how you're supposed to get the stuff back out of all the nooks and crannies! I think a stiff bristled paintbrush would help.

The most important thing to note about moon sand is that it isn't dough, you can't mould it in your hands like playdough. You have to use push moulds or cutters with it. My son is 3.5 and he can't really push the moonsand into the moulds effectively enough to use them. His "creations" just fell apart and he got frustrated and bored of trying to do that, so be aware that little ones will need help from someone older to use the kit as intended.

What my son can do very well with moonsand is crumble and scatter it everywhere, and this brings me on to the main issue, the mess. It gets everywhere, and while the pack advises you to use a big clump to mop up the smaller bits, what they don't tell you in that the big clump you're using will be crumbling and shedding as you go, so it's one step forward two steps back!

My advice would be to get your kids to use moonsand on the floor on a plastic tablecloth or similar, so that you can grab the corners and just pour the whole lot back into the container afterward, (or even in a dry empty inflatable pool!) as otherwise you're going to lose a lot of it up the vaccuum cleaner at the end of every play session. Also I only let my son use one colour at a time as I know they'd get instantly mixed up. Overall a bit disappointing. If it came with some method of cleaning up and tubs for the sand, I'd be a lot more positive about the product.

Fun Sand . I LOVE Moon Sand it is so much ffuunn i could play with it all day! A very very fun toy. Good for all ages!

biggest mess ever . Buy moonsand only if you enjoy spending hours chiseling this stuff out of crevices, your child's shoes, the carpet, the patio, etc. It is by far the messiest toy we have gotten for our child. Far worse than play-doh or even regular sand. I will never buy it again!

Creative & Fun . How do you play this toy?
You place the dots by following a design pattern, spray with water, wait for several minutes, and then remove from the tray with the dots all fused together.

My 5-yr old son loves this this toy. He actually loves every step from placing the dots into the pen to the final water spraying. It comes with a pen with 4 chambers to separate different colors. The red dome top part serves as a little funnel when you attach it upside down to make it easier to put the dots into the pen. There is a small attachment with a green jelly like nib to pick up individual dots if they mess up. You have two design trays and three double sided templates. May I remind you that the 2 trays are for different patterns, so if the template does not coincide with the tray holes then it is designed for the other tray. To place each dot, you have to press a button on the side of the pen. To choose a different color, you twist the pen to open up a different color chamber.

The next step after placing all the dots into its corresponding hole is to spray the pattern with water. You have to wait approximately 20 minutes before you can take it out from the tray. Actually, you just need to check the dots and the tray if they are completely dry. It may take only 15 minutes or more depending how soaked they are. Removing the pattern can be a tricky part. You have to be careful or they may break apart. What we do is scrape it carefully with the template.

My son need to be guided in the beginning. He gets frustrated when he accidentally nudged the tray and most of the dots were thrown out of place. After a few more tries he was able to be more careful and he can do the whole process from A to Z.

This is a nice creative toy. It is guaranteed to engage them at least half an hour or more of constructive and productive time play. It is a little expensive, which is my only gripe. Refills are also not cheap and does not give you a lot of dots.

Good Idea however.... . We bought this toy for my 2 year old son. It is a great idea and he absolutely loved it and with using just water it was excellent for no clean up. However literally about 5 days into using it the drawing part which is a soft material was already getting scratched up which made drawing on the scratched parts impossible. The ONE pen which is basically a plastic tube with a felt tip (think Q-tip) started to come apart in little pieces. About 3 weeks after having it, it was so scratched up on both sides just from basic use that you couldnt see when you drew on it anymore and the Magic Pen tip was compeletly destroyed and leaked. I had to throw it away, which was really disappointing because my son loved the toy and it was a great idea but obviously cant hold up for long and in the end isnt worth it.

Aquadoodle Travel Doodler is riddled with problems . My daughter rcvd the Aquadoodle travel doodler for her 3rd birthday and wow, were we disappointed. I cannot see one thing that makes it better/funner than the magnadoodle (which she got for her 2nd birthday and it still works great).

Here are some of the problems we experienced:
1) Aquadoodles take too long to dry. It can be frustrating to wait until your drawings disappear to create new ones.
2) The pen for the travel doodler is too small. The water it holds only amounts to about 15 minutes worth of drawing time.
3) The surface scratched within moments of opening the packaging.
4) The felt tip to the pen can be chewed off.
5) The outer hard surface takes up a lot of room, the actual drawing room could be larger.
6) The place to store the pen is an elastic rubberband and my 3 year old doesn't have the patience or finger dexterity to put the pen away.
7) The string that connects the pen is very short. The 3 kids and 4 adults that "played" with the Aquadoodle in the week that we've had it have all said the same thing: "why is this string so short?"

I am now thinking about getting my daughter the Aquadoodle mat, since some of the problems with this toy have more to do with the "travel" options rather than the Aquadoodle itself, maybe the mat is the better choice...?

worth the money . I received this as a gift for my 2 year old daughter for her birthday. I hesitated from the reviews on giving it to her. As a mom of three small kids this is a great toy becasue she can play it alone, she can use both sides and its no mess. Anything that has no lights, music and involves creative thinking, imaginiation and quiet play is a blessing. The pen does run out of water and could have been bigger but the toy holds up well. I think worth the money.

Mom of 4 yr old and 22 months. . I'm a big fan of aquadoodle. Have 2 regular mats, 2 mini mats and 2 travel ones, as well as extra pens and stamping accessories. LOVE the regular version of aquadoodle for home and grandma's. LOVE the mini mats for hotels, restaurants (mini mats are flimsy and can be permanently creased). Was excited when this travel version came out and expected it to be a mini version of the larger mat. The frame is a bit bulky for travelling. The drawing surface is felt-like and can be easily scratched. The pen is too small and will run out of water shortly into your trip. I think the pens screw the opposite direction so kids won't open it and spill water. I would still buy this again only b/c I have to keep the younger one entertained in the car and the price of $15 is great for what you get. The product is a great idea but the felt is not practical at all and will get ruined quickly unless you take great care-i.e. don't let the child hold other toys while playing w/ this, etc. Place it in some sort of protection case. Re: the pen, you can buy the larger pens separately-they s/h just made a larger pen for this set. I keep extra pens in the car b/c they drop them often and I can't retrieve while driving. With multiple kids, they can all draw together. They need to come out w/ a portable product combining the best of their regular mat, travel, and mini mats. So far, each of the three products have different surfaces. I would be thrilled w/ a smaller version of their regular mat w/ that same type of surface. Hope to be of help.

Doesn't take a beating . Aquadoodles are one of the best inventions in recent times. And the idea of the travel aquadoodle is no exception. However this product does have it's shortcomings.

PROS
- Allows you to take the everfun aquadoodle on the go with you.
- There are 2 sides, allowing for more additional drawing space, while the other side is evaporating.
- Has an elastic loop on the side of the toy that the pen easily slides into, for convenient storage.

CONS
- Although it's for travel, the plastic "frame" makes the toy take up a lot of room (such that it doesn't fit in a diaper/carry bag.
- The pen is very small and doesn't hold much water.
- The pen opens/ closes the opposite of how you would expect (the "lefty lucy" rule doesn't work, making it hard for kids to refill by themselves)
- The felt area gets scratched and snagged very easily. Once it's scratched or snagged, the surface doesn't work the way it should.

OVERALL
I might suggest getting the Aquadoodle "mini mats". They are more portable, priced very well and you don't have to be quite as careful with them as the Travel Doodle.

Great Idea But Needs Improvement . I love the concept of the AquaDoodle as my daughter received the hardcased, double sided one, the large mat, extra pens and stampers for Christmas. However, after 3 months, the double sided portable one rarely works. I guess it has been used too much that now when drawing on certain spots, nothing shows up. This is too large to take with us on trips. Glad there are holders for the pens - thanks!

Also, for the pens: at 21 months old, she mastered taking the tops off and dumping the water on the board; and sucking the felt tips to get the water out - gross! My daughter has more fun with the pens - I find her walking around the house just carrying the pens around - guess she's trying to keep up with them. :-)

Also have the AuqaDoodle bear or mouse. Love this, but doesn't get as much attention as the drawing mats.

I will buy more and currently looking for a mini one that I didn't know existed, but needs improvement on the double sided ones and the pens. An expensive product for only lasting a couple of months!

Great Present! . My 2 year old got this for Christmas, and it has been a great present! No noise, no mess, no "mama help". The string attached to the pen is a little short, and it has one scratch on the surface already, but my daughter doesn't notice/seem to mind. Just bring a bottle of water with you for refills and make sure it doesn't get thrown around. I'm excited to try a floor mat version next!

No way to clean . The premise for this toy is great and it sounds like such a wonderful idea, but using it reveals a few issues. The most important being the fact that the screen gets grubby-looking and there is no way to clean it effectively. Another problem is that the "pen" doesn't hold a whole lot of water, so the doodling fun doesn't last very long. The screen is quite small and is quickly filled with drawings. Turning it over to use the other side is fine the first time, but after that, both sides remain "drawn on" for quite some time. I would not recommend this toy.

Good idea but doesn't last . My daughter took good care of her aquadoodle, but after a few months of moderate use the frabric in the center (most used) portion of the board no longer responded to the pen. After repeated attempts to get a hold of customer service, they stated they only back thier product for 30 days.

Dissapointed. Seems like a great idea, but didn't hold up well to even moderate use and vigilant care for spills etc.

Messless Drawing Fun . I got this product for my three-year grandson for his birthday. I can actually relax and do household chores without worrying about paint on the carpet, crayon on the walls, markers smeared on the furniture, or pointy pencils poked through the linoleum. If a child decides to use the special pen to write on something inappropriate, it does not matter...it is simply a very small amount of water that comes out. This product won the 2007 Top Toy of the Year Award from Creative Child Magazine, AND the Parents' Choice Gold Award from Parents' Choice Foundation.

The product is recommended for children 2+ years. I even enjoy using it.

It is an alternative to the erasable slates which I also use with my grandchildren and they enjoy.

This product consists of a durable fabric mat 27.56 X 27.56 and a plastic stiff-point, felt pen that you refill as needed with tap water by simply unscrewing it, filling with water, and then screwing it back together. The mat is bordered by cute geometric pictures of animals and common objects such as a tree, plane, rocket ship, kite, sun, umbrella and more. Using squares, triangles, circles, ovals, and rectangles, a child can copy these pictures, as well as drawing his/her own creations. You can also purchase stamps to make patterns, and a paintbrush to make broad strokes separately.

The marker makes a vivid blue mark that is quite pleasing. There is ample space for drawing. After a while, the picture gradually fades as it dries (sort of reminds me of how we used to give the kids a bucket of water and a paintbrush and let them paint on the sides of the house). I find the rate of evaporation just right...not too fast or too slow. You can speed this process up by working in front of a fan if desired.

The product can be used for entertainment, practice of fine-motor skills, and working with your child on shapes, alphabet letters, spelling, games, etc.

The CON to this product is that the images are not permanent should you want to save them (use a digital camera to record them). However, the CON is also the PRO as this mat is reusable over and over again and is very durable. However, because it is only surface washable, be careful about getting anything other than water on it. Using cleaning solutions, or machine washing it can destroy the special surface. (I had trouble getting some cake icing off of ours that stained and left a grease spot).

Maintenance of the product involves hanging it to dry when done. After it is dry you roll it up and fasten with the attached tie ribbons. If you roll it up damp, you will end up with mildew since it is made of fabric. It also has a loop to store the pen.

I purchased my AquaDoodle at WalMart for several dollars less than it is offered here. I think it is priced a little high for what you get, but for the enjoyment factor, it has been worth it and I am planning on purchasing another one for my other grandson. Great product!

Good toy for beginning artists . This is a great toy. My two and a half year old loves playing with it. I recently purchased it for a gift for a two year old and his mother tells me he plays with it all the time. Great for the beginning artist with a mom who doesn't like mess!! Its lightweight and portable, too so easy to pack up and bring out with you. My son even knows how to fill up the water pen when it gets empty so he can draw relatively unsupervised without me worrying that he will color on my furniture.

Great Toy . Bought this last year for my 2 year old. A year later, the toy is still in working condition, but not used as much as it was in the early stages.

Great fun! . I bought this toy for my niece last christmas. She was still too young to really love it, but i have to say all the aunts and uncles were crowding around it on the floor to play with it. It's a ton of fun- and i think when she's older she'll really enjoy it. But i think it's great, and when my daughter is old enough i plan to get one for her as well.

Very nice I bought additonal pens . Very nice, I bought additional pens, etc. Make sure your child doesn't use crayons on it because it won't come off, haha. Worth the $.

Doesn't hold up . This toy seems like such a great idea..but it didn't work for very long. Within a few months the pen just got dried up (even with water in it) and it barely makes a mark when you try to draw with it. You always had to push very hard to get a nice line, even from the very start..which wasn't exactly easy for my 2 year old to do. Maybe I will try to buy a new pen and see if we just had a dud? Also, the mat got water spots on it that won't go away.

Moderate fun for a 2 year old. . 2 year old likes to lose the marker. Doesn't hold attention for long, maybe when he's older. More fun for the adult playing with a 2 year old. Clean and not very messy. Would still buy but definitely price shop this item, plus an extra marker is nice.

Design Flaw . My son loved this toy. We used it one grocery shopping trip and the pen slipped out of its holder without my knowing and was lost in transition from the cart to the car. Since the pen tip is specifically designed for this version of mat, the pens sold as replacements don't work as their tips are too thick and too much water is absorbed onto the mat which then doesn't dry in enough time to make this toy fun anymore. I contacted the company and they have great customer service. I would still buy other versions of Aquadoodle toys, but this one has a design flaw I hope they fix so the pen is somehow attached.

Great for the car church waiting rooms and restaurants! . My Two year old loves this....I start with a circle and he tells me what to add (eyes, nose, mouth, hair....). I draw different silly faces each time. My five year old pulls it out in the car and at church and just draws....by the time we are finished with one "page" the last one had dried. This is a GREAT toy and a GREAT gift for places where they need to be quiet. Keep one in the car and in the toy bag that goes to restaurants, church etc!

Poor Quality . I loved the idea of this toy. I bought it for my daughter to take on the plane when we went on holiday. Unfortunately you needed to be Superman to even get the top off the pen to add the water and then if you press too hard (as many kids do when drawing) the nib gets stoved up into the inside of the pen and you can't get it back out. So after literally 10 minutes of use, we have a mat and a useless pen (and no spares are provided). I think the concept of this is great but its a shame the quality doesn't back it up. And its not exactly give away either - would stick with a colouring in book and box of crayons which would cost less anyway. Shame though as it could be great.

good for creativity but pen needs to be secure . We received this as a gift for my son. He enjoyed creating designs, waiting for them to dry and then creating new designs. If the company were to redesign this, I would suggest that the pen somehow be attached to the toy with a string of some sort (like the doodle pro). It has a carrying strap where you can insert the pen, but it needs to be more secure. Once when we were in the car on a trip my son accidentally dropped the pen, and it was also impossible to locate it without having to stop the car. I think we have since lost the pen, so we now have a mat with nothing to use to draw.

Simple but effective . My daughter likes to draw and since we were going through a ream of paper every month and it was starting to litter up our vehicle, we got her this portable aqua doodle. She enjoys drawing on it and it saves on messes.

The only down side is that the you can't save some of the "masterpieces".

great for studying . im an adult who uses this product..
im a student of the japanese language and this product has saved me loads of money.. when you study japanese you have to learn 2000 kanji(chinese characters) to be literate.. you learn them by writing each of them them hundreds of times.. that adds up to a ton of paper and lots of pens that run out of ink.. plus it often helps to write big when you first learn a new character.. this product is a life saver.. its so convenient.. when i finish writing on one side the other is already dry and ready for more kanji practice.. because of this product my japanese writing is neater and more ledgable than my english.. sometimes just to cement kanji vocab word i draw out the meaning next to the kanji character.. its very helpful.. plus i get alot fewer of paper cuts.. i might be the only person who ever thought to use this product for this purpose.. i love how little waste there is with this product.. its just water.. and i dont have to worry about messy cleanup (i used to use markers and paper and the markers would seep through and i would have to scrub my desk after.. ugh..

i must admit i also use this product instead of scrap paper for quick math problems that im trying to work out..

Great travel fun . My daughter is almost 2 and she loves to scribble. We practice writing "A B C", and I draw pictures for her to point at and learn (bunny, dog, cat, etc)
Great for in the car and at restaurants. She can't draw on the walls or floor with the water pen, and the aqua book is better than having paper scraps everywhere.

aquadoodle travel mat . Nice little toy to bring on road trips or long stroller rides. Very straightforward, what you see is what you get and my kids enjoy drawing with it.

my son loves loves this . my son is 32 months and loves cars and scribbling. the aquadoodle wall runner is easy to set up for him anywhere. just add water to the pen and he can draw on the special aquadoodle pad without a mess. the only thing about it is the the pad gets dirty easily.

Kids love it . This was a Christmas gift for a friend's child but I have prior experience with Aquadoodle so I thought I'd pass my experience along. The mat is very durable and kids just learning to write or draw love it. The mat can be secured to the wall or used on a table or floor. It pretty much mess free because the mat is activated by a sponge tip pen you fill with water. Also, at work we have an autistic child who loves to draw and she loves it too though she is a teenager.

great product for kids who love to draw! . We bought two of these for my twin nephews who just turned 3 and they loved it! Their mom said that they are just getting into drawing and this was perfect for them. Plus no mess!

Cons Review

Okay but pricey for what you get . I bought my son this Cars-themed Aquadoodle since he is big into Cars (and so are we), though the price we paid through Amazon was $19.99 with free shipping (as opposed to $19.99 plus $15.99 (!!!) shipping, as is currently advertized). It comes with one pen and one sheet on which to draw on; rather plain and not really worth the price. At least it's all water and no chemicals, which is definitely something.
