Not what I was expecting . I read the review on this product and the reviews for the same product sold in a smaller set (many more reviews and it's the same thing)and I never got the impression that this is a single use toy. I was surprised that when you wet the pieces and stick them together, you can't really use them again. When you pull the two pieces apart, they've melded together and are now sticky. I was thinking this was a use over and over toy.On a different note, the box mine came in had been opened, carelessly, was riped and taped back together. Because it had been so obviously opened, I question whether all the 1000 pieces were there. The box was far from full BUT since I wasn't the first to open it I don't know if it's like a bag of chips and only comes half full. Not the ideal situation for gift giving, which this was.

Cons Review

Hours of fun . My 8 year old daughter received this last week and we have all had so much fun creating different objects. My husband even made a dragon. Super simple, just dab the ends with a wet rag and push together. It actually sticks without a gooey mess. Great for all ages.

A great product for portable programming . I am a librarian who conducts storytimes in classrooms on a daily basis, conducting 80+ programs each month. I have been searching for a portable flannelboard to take into classrooms. It is harder to find than I thought it would be. I found this product when searching the Amazon site and ordered one to try. The size is slightly smaller than the previous board I had been using but I have been able to adapt to the size. I am pleased with the product overall and would say that it's the nicest feltboard I have used in my 30+ years in the field. Two suggestions for improvement would be to make the felt part of the board on the inside when the case if folded to protect the felt from rain, etc. and also to reinforce the seams of the product. I have had to reinforce the seam that holds the board together with black electrical tape because the one edge that isn't reinforced with fabric is starting to rip. I realize that most people won't give this product the heavy use that I do but feel that a potential buyer needs to be aware of this. After my initial purchase I ordered 3 more for the rest of my programming team. I also took the product to a meeting to share with the other librarians in my system. I have had many teachers inquire about how to purchase one as well. Previously I had used a feltboard that I had modified to fit over a chair in a classroom. This product, because it folds into a triangle shape sits directly on the chair and provides a small space for me to store my flannel pieces when I am presenting a storytime.

Nice to play with could have better design . We bought this for our 3 year old. He loves drawing on it with the dry erase markers. We also play with magnetic letters on the boards as well as felt pieces on the flannel board side. It works as it is intended to. My only complaint is that to switch it to the various sides the flap that is supposed to secure the baord in place isn't very sturdy. The design could be better. Overall though, this is a fun product for kids. Great way to engage your child's imagination.

A solution . Although this is a toy, it is a great office solution. We have all wood workstations and no place for whiteboards. This is a great solution. It has its own easel and two nice sized white board surfaces. It folds away into a slim space that can be stored anywhere.

great board! . This board is great and exactly what I was looking for. I use it at home with my preschooler and she loves to act out.different stories on it. Nice quality and portable.

Lightweight but fun . My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday. I love that it folds flat, but we usually leave it up in his room because he plays with it so often. It is very lightweight, and sometimes when he is drawing the easel tilts backwards. Other than that he really enjoys playing with it. It's definitely been one of his most favorite gifts! And as a side note, this easel does NOT come with any chalk.

Awesome . Both my daughters ages ten and three love this product. My three year old enjoys practicing her alphabet and drawing pictures.

my favorite paint by number . I have done many many paint by numbers. I think the number is approaching 20, every one i have painted was made by dimensions/paint works. I love their products, easy to follow and read, good quality paints and even an instruction sheet. I like how they have you mix colors but label it with a letter it makes life easier. This particular picture turned out beautifully. I really wish i could visit this scene. instead its hanging in the living room for all to see. I really recommend it the colors are soo beautiful and bright.

My first try . I loved to paint-by-number when I was in my early teens. These are NOTHING like the old kits. The paintings look like paintings, not paint-by-number renditions. I just retired and needed a hobby. Although, confusing at first, I got the hang of it and finished. It turned out beautifully. I didn't know how to use the paints and ended up having to order more black, but I learned. I just finished my second one and am moving on to my third - and will order more. I thoroughly enjoy this new challenge, and it is a challenge - but worth it!! My only criticism is that the brush included in the kit is poor quality. On my second painting, I bought my own brushes from a hobby store.

Product Review . Although the gift was received with great enthusiasm, for the price the product did not seem to warrant the price charged. It was much smaller than I anticipated. I hope the product holds up to a child's usage of the product. The cost for the item, in my opinion was overpriced. It is merely a piece of colored particle board with a roll of paper.
As the purchaser I'm disappointed but it was well received by the receiver of the gift and her parents.

Wall Easel . I have limited space and this is turning out to be the perfect solution. It is used by about 9 children ages 18 months to 5 years and fills their needs nicely.
It was easy to hang taking only about 15 minutes. I need to help them tear the paper or slide it under the plastic bar. I would recommend this to others.

Great for an almost 3yr old . We bought this for our daughter for Christmas. She will be three in a couple of months. The first one arrived damaged, but due to the ease of amazon returns we were able to return it and get a new one. So much easier than waiting in line to return something at the store. Just print the label and give it to your UPS man...get online and order a new one. Refund actually came through the day after we got the replacement. The replacement is great. Easy to hang...a level and cordless drill were needed. It comes loaded with the paper and the cups to hold crayons to a paint (we are not to the paint stage yet). We have not used the chalk board feature yet, but it did not come with an eraser.

Product looks great and our daughter loves it. The mounting system seems to have it securely fastened to the wall. Would recommend this product. And like always, you cannot beat Amazon Prime Shipping.

Good purchase . We were impressed with this product overall. Great colours, roll of paper rolls easily and mounting was fine. The paper roll itself is a smaller width than standard easels.

Exactly what I wanted to wish it were bigger . This is exactly what I wanted. An easel that hangs on the wall and out of the way. The roll of paper is convenient to pull down and use and the guide at the bottom to hold the paper in place is great. The blackboard seems to be a little on the cheap side so not sure how long that will last. My only issue with this easel is that I wish it were a little bigger. The cups on the bottom are nice, but if this were about 6 inches wider, with two more cups or a platform/shelf at the bottom, it would be perfect. There is hardly enough room for paints and brushes. Despite the negatives, I love that this goes on the wall and keeps the play room tidy.

Awesome--For the Little Teacher . My daughter always pretends to be a school teacher. For her birthday, we decided to buy her an easel/chalkboard. We went to the local stores where they were almost twice the amount as this one. This one is hanging on her wall. She can use it as a writitng tablet or a chalkboard. She absolutely loves it!!!!!! Great quality and durable and very affroable compared to the ones in the store.

Fun space saver . Bought this for my 2.5 year old son who loves to color & paint. So far he loves it. Great that it can hang in the play room without taking up as much space as traditional easel. Love it! . My 2 yr old loves to color...on everything! We were getting our front room walls colored on daily. So we decided to order this and hang it in the front room in his play corner and its fantastic. Has it completely cured him of his wall decorations? Still looking for pieces... . I found an easel very similar to this at our local kids consignment shop for about $20. I brought it home and mounted it on the wall and it's very stable. (I have to admit I was surprised at how sturdy it was once hung.) My 2 1/2 yo son seems to like it and overall I'm very happy with my purchase, especially since I had been looking at other easels that were much more expensive and took up a lot more space. I love that he has constant access to the ability to create; he doesn't have to ask, his paper and crayon box are right there. My only complaint is... I wish I could find the cups that are supposed to fit the holder. I don't want to just order any old cups I can find because they may not fit.Would I buy it again? Absolutely.

Multiple Purposes . The finger-paint paper that comes in the tray is heavy and of good quality. Paintings on my fridge hold up quite well without ripping at the edges. And the tray is wonderful. My 20-month old granddaughter uses the paper for her crayon drawings as well. The plastic tray that the paper comes in has a tiny lip around the edge, and the lip keeps crayons from rolling off the table -- very, very helpful. When I realized the value of the tray, I started putting other toys with wheels on the tray to keep them from rolling off the table as well. And the tray is quite large -- as big as my granddaughter's arm span. You'll get good value with the paper, but the tray's what made me fall in love with this item!

Great for painting and coloring! . I purchased this for my daughter who is 2 1/2. She loves to paint at school but we just don't have the room for an easel at this point. This was the perfect solution! She can sit at the table with her paint brushes and paint. I haven't had her do finger painting yet but I'm sure we'll get some finger paints at some point soon- maybe when the weather is warmer and she can do it outside at her picnic table. I really like that it holds the paper steady for her- the tray did not move at all while she was painting. As the other reviewer said- also great idea for coloring so crayons or markers don't roll away- I hadn't thought of that but great idea!

Definitely recommend this product if you are holding off on an easel purchase!

It's paper and a plastic tray . Totally my fault for not reading the description well enough, but this is just paper and a plastic tray. For some reason I thought there was paint included too. Well the reason is the price! Although the price on this specific item is the same as specialty toy stores (local I found it for $15 plus tax), this is just an awful value. It's just paper and a plastic tray!

grandkids love it . I bought one of these at the local thrift store, because my grandson fell in love with it. I know I'd never pay $60 for it, but it's been quite a hit here. It's obviously durable, if it's surviving it's second set of kids.

Great novelty but short lived fun . The stencils that it comes with are really good but they are constantly falling out of the slots. They can't be used for anything else as they don't really have holes, just clear space. Still it would be a 5 star product if the drawing lasted longer. Unfortunately, parts of drawings start to fade sometimes before you have even finished the stencil. If the room is dark sometimes it lasts up to a minute but certainly not in a well lit room. We found it on sale for a few dollars at Christmas and for that it was worth it. It is certainly the "cool" toy when friends come over but they only play with it for a few minutes. The button to turn the light on is hard to hold down for smaller children but my 3-year-old can do it. While she uses it to draw on occasion, mostly she uses it as a flashlight to shine in her mouth and nose or to shine purple light everywhere and sometimes to play doctor (ultrasound machine I think, from seeing mine). It really doesn't work well for any of those since the light is so small but she likes how it looks in the dark. If you keep the stencils in a plastic bag, it travels well for car trips and you won't find them all through the house as much. The "dotted" and "dashed" features seem pretty useless unless you want to draw a road that will disappear before you can draw the car. The batteries last a very long time though.

Beautiful Results . This paint by number is very large and I was a little intimidated by that when I received it. However, it went rather fast, once I started. The color choices by whoever made the pattern blend well to make a startlingly realistic image of the birds and branches, as they are just touched by the morning sun.

I like Dimensions paint by number kits. The numbers on the "canvas" are printed lightly enough that they do not show through the paint. The detail is subtle enough to give the image more of a "real" look, instead of some rather flat 2-dimensional paint by number images I have seen.

Most impressively, the customer service is fast and good. There were a couple of paints that had not shipped well. I sent them back for replacement and the replacements came promptly. They even supplied me with extra! I recommend this project to anyone who likes paint by number kits (and chickadees.)

Nice painting . It is a very pretty paint by numbers, and it arrived quickly after ordering. However, they should include an extra brush with it, and we ended up using colored pencils on a small section of it, for detail. Overall, good product, and would recommend.

Loons and Irises . Just finished painting. It was a lot of work, a lot of detail,time consuming, but was worth it. It came out beautiful. Invest in some very fine paintbrushes. I will frame and hang on wall

Review of Soaring Eagle Paint works Painting . I had numerous hours of painting. This paint-by-number painting was very enjoyable to do. I was also very pleased with the finished product. It requires you to mix colors to get some of the colors used in this picture. Iy makes the painting not so much like a paint-by-number and more like a painting you did yourself.

Not a toy... . This was somewhat of a nostalgic purchase for me. I did many of these paint by number sets, starting in elementary school and on through high school, but they apparently stopped selling them at places like Wal-Mart, Target, and Walgreens. I searched for them on Amazon.com on a whim and was delighted to find thousands! I enjoy doing paint by number to pass the time at home, as I spend my days looking after my mother, who sleeps a lot. They serve their purpose beautifully.

Beautiful array of colors . I absolutely loved working on this and once I started I wanted to keep going until I finished. This is my favorite painting so far and it is the 4th I have done.

dreamin the dream . I love to do these type of PBN projects except I use gel pens and they turn out beautiful I started doing them when I was diagnosed with cancer and was stuck in bed for awhile and needed something to do not good with a paint brush so my sister said use all those gel pens we got you so I matched them best I could and I have been going ever since the more detailed the picture the better it looks and this moonlit cabin is my all time favorite byfar....

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! . After spending last summer breaking my back making chalk cities and roads for my kids to ride along, I was so happy to find this.
