Fun but needs parental help . This toy is similar to others we have tried from Play-Doh in that its lots of fun for the kids. Out of all their holiday presents they played with this as much or more than any other, so I would rate it a definite success. However the engineers at play-doh still don't seem to get that kids don't have the strength of adults. Even for an adult it takes considerable strength to operate this toy and push the play-doh through the openings. Someday play-doh engineers will figure out rudimentary physics and their toys will include the use of leverage, screws, or ratcheting mecahnisms to allow children to do this themselves. I would have rated the toy a 4 or 5 (5 given the five bucks I paid), but having to have an adult present to operate the toys all the time dropped me to a 3 rating.
The quality of the toy seems pretty good, its well made with thick plastic and can be dropped or even thrown around without breaking.

Fun but hard to push playdough through . This is a pretty fun toy and I got it mainly for the farm theme and scissors. The biggest issue is pushing the playdough through the various items. It's hard for me and impossible for my 2-year old and his older friends. We find other ways to play with it and he can push the playdough through the farmer and sheep with his finger.

It's Play-Doh and that means fun time . I gave this set to my 2 nieces for Christmas and they love it. They love animals and Play-Doh so this was a logical gift to get them. They absolutely love the tractor in this set which is easy to take apart and put together. makes a great gift . This was a great gift to give for birthday parties. The barnyard theme makes it unisex which is great. The different impression toys really keep little ones busy shaping the play-doh and the toys enhance the play. Its a very colorful toy and the size of the package is not too big or bulky. The really allows kids to play and be creative.
Consistently Play-Doh . My 3-yr old LOVES Play-doh and loves this set. I also do play-doh with the two 17-mo old boys that I babysit (with much supervision). All the kids love using the "cookie-cutter" shapes. We talk about what animals they are and what sounds they make. The tractor is fun because when you push down on the tractor, it oozes out different shapes; and the plow is another way to blaze a trail of plants. The only durability issue I would have is the scissors on a long-term basis could be broken, but for now are doing just fine. Not a big enough deal to not get the set.
surprised by how much you get for the $$ . I was surprised by how sturdy this set is. The tractor is fun for my 2 1/2 yr. old to play with even without the play doh. He loves cutting the farmer's hair and the sheep's wool. Really great value!
Fun for kids and adults! . My almost 3 year old son enjoys this set a lot. The tractor comes apart and goes together easily so he can do all sorts of fun things with it...the hair for the farmer and sheep are fun. You get a lot for the money - worth it for us.
Cons Review
Great set . I bought 3 different playdoh sets for my 3 kiddos- ages 3, 3 and 2. This one they all loved the most hands down. The animal cutters are great- very detailed and cute. The sheep and farmer "grow" hair which they LOVED. It is a little hard to push the playdoh hair through the heads, but if you show your kiddo how to put it on the table and then then push down, it's much easier. My boys love tractor and making "food" to carry in the trailor you can hook on to the back of the tractor. Fun, fun toy.
