Fun Product . I love kids. And I bought this as a gift for one of my co-worker's nephews. He visits a lot, and he's under the age of five. One of his favorite things to do when he visits me is to draw. When we would draw pictures together, he would make marks on his arms, hands, the floor, etc. It's kind of messy. So, when I saw the Crayola television commercial for these Crayola Mess-Free Color Wonder Metallic Paper and Markers, I immediately thought that this would be the best gift and solution for my co-worker's nephew. The metallic colors shimmer on the metallic paper. When you move the paper, the colors grab your attention. And yes, there is less mess to deal with. When I participate in coloring/drawing activities with kids, I prefer blank paper such as this metallic paper as opposed to coloring pages. Each kid is unique and has different ideas and thoughts, and drawing on a blank piece of paper is one of the best ways to observe how creative a kid can be. The five metallic markers are spring-like colors. And 18 pieces of paper come in this kit. The only drawback is that you can't use these markers on regular paper. So, you have to order a Color Wonder paper refill. That's cool that Amazon and the Crayola online store offers 30 page Color Wonder paper refills under $6.00. Is it worth it to order Color Wonder paper refills? I would say, "yes". It's worth it to see how a kid is proud of himself/herself for creating something, and to show off his/her work. It's worth it to hang his/her drawings on the bulletin board, refrigerator, etc. And yes, it's great that there is less mess involved in this activity. I give a big thumbs up to Crayola for producing these markers and paper!

Bad Paper . I bought this because I love the other Crayola products (Color Wonder, Color Explosion), but this was a huge disappointment. The paper is so thin and it curls the entire time a child is trying to color. My daughter had the smudges from the markers all over her hands because she was trying to hold the paper down and color. Even when she finished coloring, I had to place the paper under something flat to keep it from curling. I feel that Crayola could really make this a better product by creating a thicker, more durable paper. Not worth the money, or the aggravation.

Shiny! . This paper made it worth it to bring out the Color Wonder supplies again. It works with markers and paints well; the crayons are fairly "blah." But this stuff has two major benefits to previous Color Wonder stuff: 1) You can see exactly where you wrote/drew/marked immediately since it turns a bit silvery, and 2) It turns REALLY SILVERY! and it's very shiny, the sort of stuff you would actually frame although it's kids' fingerpainting/drawing. UNfortunately, the shiny effect seems to wear off in a few days - haven't tried framing it and seeing if that keeps it from happening, but I suspect that it will wear off anyway. I do agree that better quality paper would be nice; this is expensive stuff. But it is very, very, very, very shiny.
It really works! . This was a great deal for the price. I love Color Wonder products. My son got this as a gift for Christmas and he was thrilled. The products does work and looks just like the commercials.
