She Loves It . I bought this for my 8 year old daughter's birthday after she saw it on TV. While I wasn't overly impressed with it, she loves it! The colors aren't very bright and you have to rub really hard, but she has played with this none-stop for about a week now. She likes all the different tools it comes with and the different patterns you discover on each page. Overall a great value.

Short term entertainment . The kids really enjoyed it initially. A set with fewer coloring pages and a lower price would be better for us because while the lure of many pages was exciting, the kids only eagerly used it a couple of days. I'm sure they'll use it periodically, but most of the set will be given or thrown away because once you see how it works, the excitement is gone.

Daughter Loves it! . If you have a child that loves to be creative and try new things then this is the item for them. My daughter loved it.

Fun for all . My 6 year old got this as a gift from my mom and everyone loves it in the house from my 2 year old to my husband. It's fun to see what you will create on the pre-done pictures and to see what they will draw on the plain sheets. Plus the texture sheets make it so they create different textures on pages. As for the creativity if they use their imaginations there is loads of creativity to be had! We've made colored, textured airplanes out of the plain pages and bookmarks out of the smaller ones to give away. Plus they love finding different things around the house to create with.

A sad sad little product . I just saw this product on TV and I must admit that after seeing the commercial, it made me a little sad.
I thought the whole point of children's creative activities is to foster things like individuality, observation, personality, creativity. I didn't see any of this in this product. In fact, the more I think about it the more I think it was designed for the convenience of the parent ("No markers! No crayons!") and not the kids. The product serves a simple purpose: it eliminates crayons and markers from the child's environment and hence the rist of damaging furniture, floors and walls. They just rub on the paper and the color (whatever color has been already decided) "magically" appears.
The product also eliminates the decision making process of choosing colors based on what you observe or desire or even the effort of trying to color within the lines. I can see parents using this stuff on a trip or while traveling, but one of the key selling points of the commercial was the elimination of crayons and markers. My guess is that they (the manufacturers) would love it if their product was used everywhere and everytime children wanted to 'color'.
Some of the cutest things I remember from anyone else's children were the drawings they'd make. It was the purple trees, the blue apples and the efforts (and the obvious failure) of coloring within the lines that made those drawings precious.
