It's so easy for little hands to start making art! Simply peel the picture one section at a time, crunch up the colorful tissue paper squares, and stick them down. Each kit comes with six self-stick patterns, 500 tissue paper squares in a rainbow of colors, and four giant wiggly eyes.

Occupational Therapist says it's a great fine motor activity . My Tissue Art lets kids have fun while developing their fine motor skills. Crunching up the little tissue paper squares helps build the small intrinsic muscles of the hands, an important foundation for writing skills, doing buttons, and other developmental hand skills.

A great gift for a 5 y.o. . I gave this to my 5 year old granddaughter & she loved it. The kit is designed such that she can create a beautiful picture independently, with little guidance from me other than to get started.

Alex My Tissue Art Opinions
Great fine motor skill set and fun activity for kids and parents. . My 2 1\2 year old son received this for Christmas.
I love the simplicity of this set for parents to do with young children.
The base for each object is a sturdy tagboard typ maretial. Each section has it own seperate peel off area so you can have the child concentrate on one area easily.
This also makes it easy to stop at the moment a kids is done or gets distracted without really messing up the whole kit.
It was very smart to have the kids ball up the little pieces of tissue paper and then press down. They can make such great art projects then, basically by themself with only a bit of parent guidence.
The tissues are great vibrant colors and the perfect size for little hands!

Great Idea Extremely Poor Design . My daughter thoroughly enjoys craft projects, and the Alex Toys Little Hands series is quite popular around our house. This particular activity, however, left much to be desired. We've gotten three of these kits from different sellers and at different times. In all three instances, the mounting boards were not sticky enough for the tissue paper to actually stick. The first time around, we were living overseas and purchased from a local vendor. I thought perhaps we just got an old set, or a set that had been exposed to temperature extremes. The second set, we purchased through Amazon while in the U.S. Once again, the tissue paper absolutely would not stick to the mounting board, rendering the craft frustrating and unusable. The third set was part of a larger Little Hands craft package. My daughter discovered them on her arts and crafts shelf today and has once again been reduced to tears by this extremely poor product. It's also worth mentioning that the tissue paper included with this project is bleeding tissue paper. My daughter paused to get a drink of water while she was working on this ill-conceived project and now has hot pink stains on her hands, outfit, and desktop. Bleeding tissue paper is great stuff -- for certain projects. But it probably shouldn't have been included without warning in a craft kit geared toward young children.
easy craft for kids . I purchased this for my grandchildren, ages, 5,8,9. it was easy for all of them, and they had a great time doing it. the only complaint is the glue is not that great, and the tissue does not stay on well. although the older ones had fun making it, they finished quick. I would recommend this for ages 4-6.
Pink color rubs off on fingers . Love the concept and the final project looks great. However,
- The glue does not hold the tissue very well.

Lots of fun but not enough tissue squares . This is a great craft - lots of fun. I like the idea that the boards are self-sticking, so no runny glue mess. Unfortunately, there are not many tissue squares included. I guess you can buy your own tissue paper and cut into squares, but that's a bit of a hassle. If you want a similar tissue art kit for older kids (10,000 tissue squares), check out Lakshore Learning.
Creative toy for the little ones . This is a clever toy for toddlers and preschoolers. It involves fine motor coordination (i.e., peeling off the cut outs, crumping up the tissue, sticking the little tissue balls on the adhesive cut-outs) and creativity. It's the type of art that is structured (the cut outs are already made) yet gives them freedom to choose color and pattern. The end product tends to be beautiful. I got one for my daughter and have already given a few as gifts. It does require some grown up support, though, otherwise impulsive little hands will just peel off all the cut-outs and tear out the tissue pads.
Our favorite Alex craft for the littlest hands . This craft is really basic - pretty much it is just some really, really big stickers (8" or larger I'd say) and tissue paper. You can peel off just portions of the paper on the shape at a time to reveal the sticky part. Then crumple the tissue, stick onto the shape and done! My kids ages 3 and 5 both loved crumpling the tissue, and the crafts are quick so it holds even the just-turned 3 year old's attention, and the result is really cute! No gluey mess, mom likes that! We love the Alex craft kits, they are perfect for the winter months or rainy days.
Cons Review
Great project for small hands . Product comes with different colored tissues already cut and sorted so that is a big plus. A lot of crumbling up paper. My 3 year old got bored pretty quick but the projects do turn out really nice if you are willing to but the time in. I would say it is better for a slightly older child, 6 and up who have more of an attention span. Love the fact that you can peel off the backing section but section to reveal the adhesive.
