They last just as long as Crayola brand . I have had people tell me not to buy the Roseart brand because it is very inferior to Crayola. I did not have this experience. I bought a bunch of these for my son to use (he also has crayola markers) and they last every bit as long as Crayola does (provided he remembers to put the cap back on after using them. The colors are pretty much the same too.

Crayola markers are great, but they are so much more expensive. I feel the quality of the RoseArt and the Crayola are the same so why would I want to pay more? It is after all - just a marker.

Cons Review

Not totally washable . These markers are not as washable as I hoped they would be. They have left slight marks on my kitchen table after my son colored there. Everything else wipes right off of the table, but not these. I would recommend Crayola!

As good as the "name brand" and made in Canada a fair trade partner of the USA. . I have never been disappointed with the RoseArt brand of products. Their markers are bright, true to color, flow easily, and don't run out quickly. An added bonus is that they are made in Canada...you don't have to worry about the safety of this product like markers made in China etc. A great buy and a great product!

Really made the grandkids happy . These were sent as a "Just because" gift to my granddaughter who is 9 - she loves them - as do her older sister - the scents are bold enough to tell but my daughter says they do not "stink" - the colors are pretty and washable if necessary - great product at a great price!!!

These are the BEST!! . They smell so good and the scent lasts on the paper too. These are the best deal.

My girls love these markers! . I bought these for my girls and they have performed pretty well. The markers have nice bold colors with a variety of scents. The only problem I have found with them is if my 4 year old colors and entire picture with one marker (which she is prone to do) the marker gets dried out. But I would think any marker would do that.

Just okay.... . Thought I would give these Rose Art scented markers a try, because the Mr. Sketch ones are a lot more expensive, and my kids can't keep their hands off of my Mr. Sketchs. Well, you get what you pay for in this case. I might have been happy with the Rose Art ones, if I did not already know what the others were like. The Rose Art ones have much less scent, a few of the scents you can't really smell much at all, not enough to figure out what they are. Some of them are very pleasant smelling and robust. I would rate them as "okay".

Fainted scent . The markers work fine for markers, but I was specifically looking for scented markers. My son was thrilled to get these, but very disappointed that they barely smelled when you put it to your nose, and not at all when on paper. He was very disappointed because the scented markers at our children's church are very smelly! Thought these were the same ones, but it is obviously a different brand.

My son played with this for hours when it came . We just got this in the mail today and my son sat at the table and played for hours. It's not "play doh" it felt a little different, the red was softer than the blue but that didn't make a difference, it felt a little more plasticky or something but didn't make a difference. The stamps stayed in the stampers and they showed up fine in the play doh. It comes with a little mat which I noticed when I wiped the table with a damp sponge it stuck to the table but when the table was dry it would move around when trying to move and play with the doh. It was only $[...] free shipping and well worth it. This is the first play doh set I got for my son and if I had to do it all over again I'd definately buy it again. It's cheaper than play doh, felt a little different but overall it met the same needs. When I read the review about the stamps not working I figured for $[...] even if the stamps didn't work we could still play with the doh but everything worked great.

Doesn't Function! . This toy is a piece of junk. The letters do not stay in the stamp when you push the stamp into the Play-Doh. The letters fall out. It was very frustrating for my kids when they tried to stamp the letters. It did not work at all. You can't even use the letters by themselves to push them into the Play-Doh. The letters do not show up, they are too shallow. This is a very poorly designed toy. Don't waste your money.

Good set for the price . This was on clearance when I got it (under [...]) if I remember. DD has had it for about a year (she'll be 3 soon) and likes to play with the roller and the stampers. We haven't done a lot with the letters yet, but she likes the characters. The stamper base can be broken by a toddler--she likes to pull UP on the tab (which is supposed to be pushed DOWN to release the disk). Neither has actually broken yet, but one is pretty loose.

The playdough that came with this--nothing too stellar, but I figured it was worth getting the tools. (It was a little harder than regular playdough brand, and it dried out/got crumbly fairly rapidly.)

Kind of flimsy . The dough is good, the roller and cutter are ok, the stamp holders have a very weak tab for changing out the disks - one broke just trying to figure it out. Also, the disk of the letters and numbers are hard to use, you have to really push hard on the dough to get an image - the face disks are very cute however.

Really high quality colored pencils. . I highly recommend these pencils.

Positive features:
- last a long time
- smooth and consistent
- easy to sharpen with all three types of common sharpeners
- excellent mix of colors
- look great in every project that we've used them for


Areas for improvement:
- the barrel diameter on these is thinner than on the Crayolas. I find them less comfortable, but that is personal preference.

Cons Review

These pencils suck! . I was hoping to save a little money by buying the cheap pencils but these are just terrible. It's very difficult to get any color out of them, even from the dark colors such as black (shows up as a smoky grey). I end up pushing so hard I almost tear the page just to see the result. They also let off pretty badly on the adjoining page. I wouldn't buy these for children or adults, they're just too faint.

waste of money . I can't testify to the colors since my sons aren't that picky when it comes to color rendering. The pencils work well out of the box until you need to sharpen them; when you're finally done, so is the pencil because all that's left is a little nub. The old adage is true, you get what you pay for. My advice is spend a more elsewhere and get a better quality.

a good deal . These are hard to find stampers (at least where I live). I am a classroom teacher and the students love the quick feedback allowed by getting "stamps" by portions of their work. I also teach students how to use the stampers to assess peer work. good price.

Super Saturating Stamps . I bought these to use in a classroom setting as replacements for my aging Crayola stampers (which I have gone thru 2 sets of and love). I like them, but there are several things I would change:
1. The ink is too saturated. Almost all the stamps bleed through even heavier paper with only a light touch.
2. A couple of the stamp shapes are indistinct and it's hard to tell what the shape is supposed to be unless you already know.
3. It is frequently difficult to get clear impressions, and you may need to carefully rotate to get the entire surface, but not too much or you'll get the circular edges as well.I really bought these because I needed the stamps and liked the consolidation of regular markers on one end and stampers on the other. Honestly, I prefer the Crayola mini-stampers, but these will do the job and were a good price ($7.90).***UPDATE***The first stamp I used didn't even last one quarter before it dried out. Now granted this was with heavy use, but the Crayolas I had lasted MUCH longer with the same use. Also, the exterior markings have completely rubbed off. I'm going back to tried and true, even though they cost more.

Washed out colors . I bought this for my husband as a way to unwind after working all day. The picture is lovely if a bit on the small side. The pencils are so light that you can hardly tell that you have colored in anything. After he was done, it was hard to see any coloring. Very different from the picture. I think a child would be very disapointed. We, on the other hand, bought an extensive color marker set and have begun coloring it in with markers instead. Now we can see the colors and it is indeed beautiful.

Cons Review

Disappointing . I bought this for my mother, who enjoys paint-by-number and pencil-by-number kits, but when it came I was so disappointed in it that I did not even give it to her. Although Thomas Kinkade's lovely painting is provided as an example, the actual colors in the kit do not in any way resemble them. This kit should have at least 20 different pencil colors in order to approximate the original in any way. Obviously, a pencil-by-number kit is not going to look just like an original Kinkade, but when you are trying to replicate a painting with hundreds of colors in it by using only 8 colors, what you end up with is something entirely different. You will not even recognize the Kinkade painting in this one when it is done. If you have your own set of pencils and want to improvise on the colors, you could do much better with the set, but be warned that the paper it comes on is not very sturdy either.

great product . I purchased this for my daughter who is 10. It's really a nice item. It's a lot less mess than the paint by numbers and it's also a bit easier to use. If you have a younger child, they need to be patient to do this since there a lot of small areas to color. Really great product. Wish I could find in department stores.

Cobblestone Lane . I thought it was a difficult picture to color. I am 79 years old and a
little shakey so some of the areas took a bit of patience. I enjoyed doing
it and found it quite satisfying. Because I had problems with the pencils
I couldln't bare down to get a darker color. The pencils were hard to
sharpen and I couldn't use a regular sharpener. The points were not
pointed enough for me to do what I wanted to do. Down the road I plan to
order the country lane pictures that are currently out of stock. I am
presently coloring the light house and find it much easier than Cobblestone.

It's like trying to paint the Sistine Chapel with a set of 8 Crayolas and a step-stool. . I'd love to give this a 5 star rating. I adore the work of Thomas Kinkade, but this is just not good.

I can't imagine what I thought I was going to get for just a few dollars, but I thought it had to be better than this. What was I thinking? More importantly, what were THEY thinking??

Pardon my error in judgement. Don't make my mistake. Too few colors, cheap paper -- I am very, very disappointed.

Cons Review

NOT Built to Last in the Hands of a Child . Why I Should Test/Review Products Before Production #1:

This product, despite the cover is NOT made for children BECAUSE, quite plainly, it is too smart for most people under the age of 12. As a school teacher, I would know.

Specifically, this product is NOT a wise purchase for a child BECAUSE:
1) It puts dry-erase markers right next to regular markers, so they are easily confused.
2) The dry-erase board doubles as a normal easel, so a ruined board ruins the entire stand, it's entire appeal.
3) It IS portable, but in order to be so portable, the clever design is too complicated for children to get used to or use properly; it takes an elaborate unfolding & refolding process to even set it up or take it down.
4) The markers/pencils are SMALL and will not fit unless placed precisely, so a child will not place them back neatly, thus destroying its portability.
5) The markers/pencils are an NON-STANDARD SIZE, so even if said "child" is smart enough not to ruin it in the first 30 minutes, the markers/pencils will run out and be irreplaceable.

All that to say, I understand why it was marked down to $11 at my local Office Max and is awesome for a thrifty gal like me. ;D <3

Great for kids as young as 6 years old . My daughter received this portable easel and art supply "purse" as a gift. She has had many hours of entertainment using it. It is totally easy to use - there's nothing complicated or frustrating about setting it up or using it. We take the art purse with us to restaurants, doctor's appointments, in the car, and on planes. I would highly recommend this for any budding artist.

Great for a little artist. . My son loves this easel. It keeps the markers and colored pencils right at his finger tips, which makes it easier to make beautiful art. It's easy to fold up and put away, or take with him when he on the go.

A great deal for a great product . My daughter received this rock tumbler as a gift and all of my children loved it - the finished product is really impressive if you have kids who like really shiny and very interesting rocks. She used them to make jewelry and she also gave several away as gifts. Yes, it is loud, but I've never known anyone who didn't keep their rock tumbler in the garage, my family included. The fact that it takes a long time to get the finished product is part of the learning experience; there are two stages to the polishing process and kids learn that it takes a lot of polishing to produce such a beautiful rock in the end. The Grand Canyon didn't erode in a day, right?! Give this rock tumbler a try and you won't be sorry!

Rock Tumbler . I read most of the reviews on this page and felt that it was important to note that I purchased this tumbler not for rocks but to tumble small amounts of brass for reloading. I figured at $11 (kind of pissed it went down to $9 right after I purchased it) it was a steal for small amounts of brass. Right now I am using it for 308 brass only and since my rifle is a bolt action I dont intend to shoot tons of it in each sitting. So, I tossed about 20 pieces of once fired in and put in some media. Seems to be doing the job nicely.

Durability: not sure but tumbling brass does not require it to be on nonstop for a month either.

Noise: ok so if you dont like noise this is not for you. Some people compared it to a "rock slide" or "racket". Yes it is noise so I say do not use this in or near any place you want to be quiet. In my case it will soon be going into a remote shead. If this thing was in or near my bedroom I could wake up at any time of night and think the random smack smack smacking was someone breaking into my place.

For $9 to $11 it is what it is, dont forget that.

Buyer Beware! . We bought this for our niece, who is very much into gems and stones. She was so excited when she opened it and wanted to get started right away. It was EXTREMELY unfortunate that the process would take SEVEN DAYS - and that's just to complete step one! The rocks have to tumble continuously in the tumbler for seven days - that's 168 hours of listening to rocks tumble around. Needless to say, her mother was LESS than pleased. They ended up shutting it off and never going back to it after just a day and a half. What a disappointment!

My son begged for this... . I read all the other reviews before purchasing this rock tumbler. Here is what I found out after it arrived:
-Not as loud as I would have thought, but we put it to run in the kids room.
-Has to run continuously for at least a week.
-The rocks come out shiny, but also quite a bit smaller than when they started.
-Somewhat messy due to the dirty water after the rocks have tumbled.
-A neat idea, since its a hands-on toy for kids, but the waiting was challenging!

I am not sure if I would buy it again, since the novelty wore off fairly quickly for my kids. But if your child is really into rocks and jewelry, it may be a great purchase.

Very Noisy . I love the idea of a rock tumbler and the educational value of it. However, it takes a very long time to do (weeks) and lots of patience. Our home is fairly small and we couldn't stand the constant noise of the tumbler day in and day out. Finally after the first step (days) I had to call it quits. If you have a place where the noise wouldn't bother you and a lot of patience then you may like this toy.

great way to learn about patience and erosion at the same time . I am a home schooling mom of 4, and when I saw this tumbler on sale I just had to get it. Although it is not a large as the more expensive tumblers it does a great job. Yes, it is noisy but go check out the natural source of erosion(rivers, ocean) not a very quiet process either, and hard to show begining and end results. We keep it in the garage.
My very impatiant son had to wait a full month for results but he also was learning to read the calander and count down days to change the grit and to finally being done. He can also explain erosion and how the rocks became smooth he is a 1st grader. I find hands on knowledge is the best knowledge.
They also give mounting for jewelry, he has already made all the jewelry and has big plans to sell it from the front yard.
My only complaint about the product is that it only comes with enough grit for one use, and no instructions on how much to add if you get more of your own.
Yet overall my son loves it and we went to a rock shop were they had tumbling rocks $3 a lb and we have already started our 2nd batch.

Cons Review

Rock Tumbler sounds like a rock slide!! . My wife and I were very excited to get this for our son. It seemed like such a great idea to see rough rocks go in and when the process was done smooth ones come out. Well, we never thought that the machine had to run for a MONTH!! A solid month with no shut offs. This is the first problem. The second issue we had with this is it is incredibly loud. So, running it for a month wouldn't have been such a problem if it didn't sound like a rock slide! I do NOT recommend this product unless you have a shed that you can keep the thing in while it is running. Major thumbs down on this one.

Not worth it . This comes with its own bag of rocks to tumble, but the assortment is quite lacking. Also, included is only enough "grit" material for one set of rocks.
