Buy this product! . My children did the Illustory kits for years but once they got a little older, they wanted a little bit more and this kit is perfect. You can still do drawings with your stories but this kit lets you use photos and stickers (some already come in the kit) and stamps and scrapbook and art materials--just about anything they want to jazz up the pages. We've made books for friends as a birthday gift, we did a travelogue of our last vacation and we've even used them to make an end-of-the-year yearbook for the teacher (everyone wanted a copy!). This kit is so cool and unique--there are hundreds of uses for it!

Great Product Great Company . I used this product to create a book for my sister's baby shower. It was a big hit. The customer service of this company was amazing, they were always very quick to respond and very willing to work with me to create an amazing book. I have been telling all of my friends with children that they need to buy this product or one of the many others from Creations By You. You will not be disappointed with your purchase, the end product looks like a professionally produced book.

Perfect! . When I told my mom I wanted to write an autobiography and have it published into a "real" book, she got this kit for me.
It was perfect!
Photostory Jr. is like Illustory, except that you can use stickers and photos and can write a little more. You can still draw things, though.
All materials needed are included, except for the photos (of course).
I highly recommend this kit.

A great present for Grandpa and Grandma . I purchased this kit to make a Christmas present. I coordinated the kids while they wrote and illustrated a story for Grandpa and Grandma. I paid extra for rush processing and premium shipping. The finished book arrived in about three weeks (not bad for December).

The Grandparents loved their book. And, the kids really enjoyed telling them all about the writing process. The entire experience was very enjoyable.

I bought the "Christian Edition" because it was cheaper. It's basically the same as the regular version, with an added sheet of paper listing some Bible stories as plot ideas. BTW, the kids didn't end up writing a Bible story. Instead they opted to create their own tale from scratch.

I would recommend this product very highly. The quality is pretty good (considering the price). The concept is what impressed me most. It's a great idea that really hits the target.

The kit includes special Art Pages, watercolor markers, easy-to-follow instructions and a postage paid envelope for mailing in your drawing for production. Or send a photograph that can be sized to fit and format in a frame. You can also make your keepsake entirely online in an Internet Production facility using Internet drawing and/or photo tools. Both can be made in either Portrait or Landscape orientation.

In just a few short weeks when the professionally produced Framed Masterpiece or Museum Poster is returned, your young artist will experience a sense of accomplishment and pride like none other! The entire family can enjoy the attractively presented artwork for a lifetime.

For framed art, it can be enlarged to 11" x 14" and printed onto archival quality paper, simulated canvas, or, for an extra charge, real canvas. Great way to preserve a child's work of art . I bought this for myself to preserve a special picture that my granddaughter had painted in school. I scanned in the original and uploaded it. The poster included my granddaughter's name, the title of the picture, and the date it was painted. I'm thrilled to have such a beautiful way to preserve and show off this lovely painting.

Extra Charges . I was curious when buying this kit if there would be any extra fees besides what I paid. I had bought a make a plate kit a few years ago and there were extra fees. There are extra fees. You will at least pay three dollars more for processing. The three dollars is for 4-5 week processing. If you want rush it is twenty dollars. There are many add on like plexiglass, different textures, extra copies, or have the drawing turned into a puzzle or a mousepad.
I have not gotten my finish product in the mail yet. My child had fun making the artwork and we are having it sent to grandma. For the price I paid I have don't have a problem paying an extra small processing fee. I just think the mandatory three dollars should be in the listing as well as the timeframe espcially if people are giving this as a gift.

Great Gift . This is a great gift for both the child and the parent. I love giving this gift when Im not sure what the child may already have and I dont want to give a gift card.
The end product (after you mail it in)is professional and beautiful. It's also a priceless treasure.

Love this kit!! . My Masterpiece is a steal at $19.95! Comparable posters and frames without custom wording are upwards of $40.00 and your child will be so proud to see their artwork blown up and treasured in this professional way; the fictional(and optional)"National Art Museum" on the poster makes them feel like a real artist. Also, it's a great way for dads to display their child's artwork at the office in a professional way with the high-quality wood frame that includes a nameplate with the artwork title, artist name and year. I saw, in another review, that there were send-back fees, but if there were, they have been removed (as the bullets above state) and there are no extra fees for the poster or the frame; unless you choose to get both in which case you get the second at a discounted price. Whichever you decide, this kit is great for not only making presentable wall art out of your children's drawings, but for building self-esteem and rewarding their creativity.

AAA+++ Product and Customer Service! . This is an AWESOME way to get the creative juices flowing from your child. My Son loved the idea, and when we received the finished product, the quality was outstanding. Customer Service was excellent. This is worth every penny, and will bring a big smile to your child's face when the finished product arrives. :)

Creative..Great customer service! . I purchased this for my 10yo sons last birthday. It sat around for awhile until he thought up something he really wanted in poster size. After he was finished with his artwork, I sent it out to be processed. Got it back a few weeks later, and while the picture was exact..it was rolled and secured with 2 rubber bands. One of the bands had dented the artwork all down the length of the picture! He wanted to keep it and just ignore the dents, but I called the company and left a voice message, which was returned within 2 hours! I explained what had happened and they apologized and stated they would mail another out right away. I offered to return the damaged artwork and they refused it. Now he has 2 giant posters (although on is damaged) of his artwork hanging in his room. Great company. Great product. Will be ordering again!

Wonderful Toy Sadly Unimpressive . This is SUCH a cool toy. But when you get down to it, it's got a heavy helping of delayed gratification. there is nothing to see or do or play with or decide or open the moment you get it. it's a "As soon as we can we will---" type of gift. So I wish I had ALSO gotten something a little more immediate gratification to go along with it. I felt like I had gotten the equivalent of a savings bond--"SOME DAY you are totally going to appreciate this" . . . .

My daughter loves these books! . These books were so great, we bought all three stories! They are educational, as well as entertaining. Whether teaching the alphabet, counting, or emotional development, it was done in a style that my daughter found interesting and inviting. She loved looking for her face in the book and naming the various characters from television. I really appreciate the way the book included extra life lessons in the stories.

Not such a great value . This book with picture is overpriced for what it is. the picture is so small that is inserted and is reversed in some scenes.

Great outlet for creativity and a digital camera . My daughter begged for a digital camera and we finally gave her one two Christmas' ago. Since then, she has taken hundreds of pictures... that have stayed right in her digital camera! It has been frustrating to see nothing much done with this expensive present. Until PhotoStory that is! Not only did PhotoStory give my daughter an outlet for her photos (she made a book from photos of our family vacation) but it included a really helpful guidebook to teach her how to take better photos, including lots of fun ideas for photos; I even got some tips from this book. She made the book herself online and said the website was really fun and easy to use. The finished hardback book is beautiful and now we have a memory book from our vacation we will treasure forever! One last thing I really liked about this product is that I can give it as a gift, unlike other photo book products online; I've already ordered one for my nephew.

An absolute nightmare . This item caused nothing but frustration for our family. Photos were extremely slow to upload and frequently didn't upload at all. Time after time we would get error messages that had no explanation. Other times, for reasons that cannot be fathomed, the uploading program would grab the wrong image. We had to contact their customer service to try and figure out how to log in and work on our project, since it took many, many hours and couldn't be done in a single sitting. Turns out they never bothered to email us the ID that we needed to log on, and never would have if we hadn't contacted them. Eventually, after several days and countless hours of mostly failed attempts to upload photos, and numerous email exchanges with their customer support to get our project working correctly, we were nearly finished. Then their website flipped out on us once again and lost our entire project, which we were unable to recover. My wife was utterly furious.In their defense, the company did respond to all our emails, but their seemingly earnest efforts to improve our experience often made little difference.This is a badly managed service that walks a fine line toward sheer incompetence. If you are looking to make a book of cherished memories, do yourself a huge favor and look elsewhere. Trust me when I say you do not want this headache.I would also be suspicious of the other, glowing, review of this product. It reads very much like a plant to me. It's quite easy for someone who works for the company to purchase the product from Amazon in order to get the "Amazon Verified Purchase" designation and make their review seem more credible.
