Who doesn't need more playdoh? . I bought this to keep in the gift closet for an unexpected party or a rainy day. Seriously, who couldn't use more play-doh? My kids tend to mix up all the colors and that drives me crazy so I always have more to replenish. Cute backpack too.

Just OK- buy for older children . I bought this hoping for a Play-Doh pack with some cool tools. I got 4 tubs of Play-Doh, one pair of scissors, a scalpel-looking cutter, a fish keychain (what the heck?) and lots of letter/number molds. Good but not great. The backpack's quality leaves a bit to be desired; I see it ripping in the very near future. The scissor's blades do reverse but you can't really use them for much, and the fish key-chain is a bit strange, not to mention flimsy.
Overall, an OK addition to our Play-Doh collection but I would buy this for older children since they will get more of a kick out of making words and numbers with the molds than the younger children who are in it for the sensory and fine-motor skills experience.

Great pack of play-doh! . I have twin 2yr olds and a 4 yr old that love playing with play-doh. This is a nice bundle in a cute little backpack. Great quality, hours of fun!!
Great! . My newly 3-year-old received this as a birthday present and she absolutely loves it. She's learning her letters and numbers with it by asking what each one is when she makes a letter/number. It took a bit to find just the right set. So many of the sets that came with pieces like this also came with tiny containers of dough, but you get 4 full sized ones with this pack and she loves the backpack to carry it all in. She also really likes the little reversible scissors it cam with and the plastic knife. The knife is a little too flimsy though and bends easily when cutting even a thin piece of dough. That's my only complaint!
For anyone having issues with actually getting letters, here's our method that works perfectly. Instead of trying to smoosh dough into the pieces and then fighting with it to get it out, flatten out a chunk of dough on the table to where it's roughly the same depth as the stamps then push the piece down on it firmly. After that, pick the piece back up and peel off the outside parts of dough, then you can easily pick up the letter or number from the table without much or any harm. On the rare occasion the letter comes up with the stamp piece, it's probably hanging halfway our and easily removes anyway. I usually need to help her flatten the dough out, but my 3 year old can make the letters herself otherwise when doing it this way.

Great for the price . I bought this toy for $5.39 on Amazon. It is a lot bigger then what I thought. The kids love it.
A fun set . I bought this for half price, thinking I'd save it for someone's birthday. Well, my daughter got it instead, and she really likes it. I should have bought two. She loves stamping with the letters. There are a few negatives to note, though.
The wide blade scissors tend to squish rather than cut, especially in the pinking shear mode, but they are still good for fine motor practice.
The vinyl backpack probably won't last long.
The backpack zipper has more resistance than expected and not easy for young kids to open. Maybe that's a good thing?

Keeps them busy . We bought this toy for our kids for Christmas. They love Play Doh and we thought the letters would add some educational aspect to their play. The only down side is that the letters are more of a stamp and our 3yr old tries to use them as a cookie cutter. The letters are tough to get out when she does this. But she does like playing with the letters and picking out letters of everyone's names. It's a nice addition to our Play Doh time.
You're never too old for play-doh . This was much bigger than I had expected and has entertained all three of my kids (and dare I say myself even) for days now. The letter and number "stamps" seem very durable and the scissors seem to be a big hit as well. The knife that comes with it is kind of flimsy though. We've always used the hard plastic knife from our toy kitchen set anyway. A nice addition would be some sort of rolling pin.
LOVE IT! . I purchased two of these (one for my 5 year old, and another as a gift). I was very happy with my purchase when they arrived. I love that everything is in the backpack (because we plan to give this to my son while on vacation this winter and it will be so handy that he can just load it all up when we're ready to go home!). I know the gift recipient will also really enjoy this gift. Very nice, thank you Amazon. Highly recommend!
