The new PlayFoam Jumbo 12-Pack gives you more foam to squish, shape and mold. This double-decker package includes two amazing new colors -- purple and gray -- along with PlayFoam classic colors: yellow, blue, green, orange, pink and white. We've even doubled the colors kids use most (yellow, blue, green, white).

PlayFoam never dries out and won't crumble or stick to skin or other surfaces, so clean up is always a snap. PlayFoam is nontoxic and non-allergenic.

Pretty fun but short life span.... . This is a great moldable toy, and my kids had a lot of fun with it. They played with it as shown on the box for about 2-3 days, keeping colors separate and using them to make different creations.

But by day 4 even the older ones (7,9) couldn't resist mushing the colors together, and then Playfloam becomes a weird colored blob. The fact there was no special container to store it like playdoh (I suppose because it doesn't harden) meant that my kids just left it out. And when it dropped on the rug, fibers would get into the floam and then it really looked quite undesirable.

Eventually, 2 weeks later, I tossed the whole thing, thinking it just looked gross and unsanitary. My kids by then had lost interest in making anything out of the grayish blob, but they did still walk by and just mush it.

If you want to make this toy last a bit longer, I would suggest opening the box carefully and providing sandwich bags for each color for storate. Then I would supervise the kids a bit, and discourage wholesale mashing of all the colors together because while that may feel fun, kids will quickly lose interest in making stuff out of a grayish blob.

And even though it doesn't dry out, I would still encourage the kids to store the playfloam in sandwich bags so it doesn't pick up dust, dog hair, and/or other stuff from being dropped on the rug/floor/etc... Then you can store the sandwich bags in the original box. If you use it this way, it will probably last a very long time.

Overall, a fun activity. And even if you purchased it for a one time use, like a birthday party or a rainy day activity, it still is a pretty good value - not much more expensive than taking a child to a movie.
PlayFoam 12 - Pack Reviews
Niece loved it her father didn't I sa . I saw an ad for this product in a magazine, ordered it here and had it shipped (Prime) to my niece for her 6th birthday. It arrived promptly and she loved it. She immediately sat down and "sculptured" some things. Later I heard from my sister that although she could cope with the mess (as bad a playdough apparently) her husband could not, and had sent a message saying if I ever sent any of "his kids" this stuff again he would fly here and feed it to me! LOL It must REALLY be a great toy for a child!
PlayFoam 12 - Pack Opinions
Creativity Center Miracle! . I teach elementary art and was looking for something fun and clean for my students (grades 3-6, ages 8-12)to sculpt with at my "Creativity Center". This is an area students use independently when they finish a lesson early. I bought the large multi-pack of play foam (actually, 2), put the foam in clear plastic containers and wrote the color name on the container in permanent marker. I stressed to my classes that they could choose one color at a time to work with, as to not mix the colors so all students could have choices when it came to colors. I also have them work on a large sheet (18"x36")of oaktag as a "foam mat" so they don't get anything on the tables. I have them show their sculptures to their neighbors and then put the foam back into the container (with a lid) for the next classes to use. I then have them wash their hands (not because the foam is sticky...more to prevent the spreading of germs). With 550 students, I've only had 2 so far try to mix colors (which can be separated). I also make sure they don't bounce the foam (it does bounce) because it can hit the floor and pick up dirt:(. The students go crazy for it! Boys and girls love it equally, of all ages. I used to have oil based modeling clay out in place of this but found to to be extremely sticky and hard to remove from hands/nails,the floor, etc. The play foam is more about the process- the fun of squishing, stretching, shaping, etc. than the product. Don't expect great detail with the sculptures. Instead, expect the kids to have a blast just playing with it! I liken the glue to that on the back of a post-it note- sticky but not so much that it makes a mess. The kids don't complain about crushing their sculptures because they understand it's the fair thing to do and they have so much fun with it, they look forward to working with it during their next bout of free time!
Hmmmmm . My daughter seems to love this stuff, but the foam pellets do separate out and it's hard to pick them up. It's kind of like having tiny styrofoam "peanuts" all over your house. We were given a brick as a present and I'm glad, because now I know I don't like it enough to buy it.
PlayFoam is fun for the whole family . I purchased the 12 pack of PlayFoam for our grandchildren - 5 year old twins. They loved it and so did the rest of the family. It doesn't have any odor, doesn't dry out like Playdough, it sticks together and but doesn't stick to you. They mixed the colors up, but so what?? It's a great creative activity.
Interesting... but not all it is molded up to be . Okay, think of playing with colored rice krispies right when they are still warm and you are trying to make them into shapes. It has that same feel. But doesn't dry out, harden or leave a residue on your hands.

The problem is that it doesn't stay together well either. I pulled it out today for my 3 and 5 year old. They got excited! They played... and in moments other colors were slowly merging. They tried to build things and keep the colors separate but it was nearly impossible. It was about 30 minutes or so of interest. Bought a tub to keep it all in since it doesn't come with anything for good storage. I can see how it will crumble. Hope it is less mess then the play moldable sand. That was a mess. But I think maybe we should stick with play-doh. At least that is cheap enough that I can throw it away when needed. We'll pull this out again but not sure it is worth the $20 cost.
Jumbo PlayFoam 12 Pack . Kids are really enjoying this. I was looking for a gluten-free alternative to playdough. It has a strong smell if you hold it up to your nose so I wonder about the chemicals used to have the foam stick together...
lots of fun for all! . I agree with the "grandma" reviewer - We received this as a Chanukah gift for my 2 year old and sunday morning, both he and his 9 year old brother were very excited to play with it. They had a great time playing with it!! It is so rare to find something they can both enjoy together. I am so glad to have this fun, squishy, creative, non-messy toy! By the way, how do other people keep it once it is out of the bags? Mine mixed up the colors as well, but who cares?!
the kids LOVE this!!! . This toy is incredible and durable. Hours of play!!! Exceptional for airplane rides. Amazing how well it keeps the attention of the kids (and adults).
Interestingly Great! . I was sick of the playdoh mess and the fact that I was continuously buying it for my 3 year old daughter because it dried out quickly, so decided to try something new and came across Playfoam on Amazon. Would definitely recommend! So far my daughter has been playing with it for 3 hours and is still entertained and happy, and I enjoy not having to scrape playdoh off the hardwood floors! Interesting material, unlike anything I have seen or heard of, which makes it even more entertaining for my little one. Definitely a good buy!
