Engaging way to promote writing . My 5-year old daughter (in Kindergarten) loves to write. It's an area that her teacher really encourages her to work on. We thought a fun journal would be the perfect solution instead of boring writing paper. She was very excited to receive this journal and LOVED decorating it. Unfortunately, several of the jewels have fallen off (5 or 6 thus far... had it about 2 weeks), but they did send extra with the kit, so we just keep replacing them.She loves to write in her special "bling" journal that she decorated. So, overall, I think it was totally worth it. Oh, and it comes with a pen that has like 12 different colors of ink... this is a perfect complement and she loves it.

I wish they had these when I was a kid! . I bought this for my 5 year old grand-daughters Birthday. My 12 year old grand-daughter ended up decorating it because the 5 year old said it was too hard. I really think the 5 year old could have done it. However when completed it was beautiful!
