Cons Review
Downloading software problems . It's always hard on a kid to receive something that is complicated, and doesn't work. We've tried to download the software three (3) times so far, to no avail. It just gives us a download error and suggests we try again. My daughter gave up long ago and wandered off.
Great Idea . our 8-year-old granddaughter loved this. She spent 2 whole days at our house working with her Poppy to create them and she wants more! We had no problem downloading them. It does require some adult help, but the kid can do all the steps. She loved creating them on the screen. Really, the printing is the only tricky part, and that's because of the test runs on plain paper before you print the final. It can get a little tricky if you make a mistake and want to go back and change it. You have to go through all of the steps again, including the test runs. But its just a matter of keeping track of where you are in the printing process. The stuffing is also pretty easy. All in all, a nice project for a rainy day.
Printies Perfection! . I am very surprised at all the negative reviews for this product. I have purchased two sets and it was a breeze! Software downloaded in under 5 minutes and we were up and running. The site is very kid-friendly and my 5 & 8 year old were quickly designing their own pets without my help. I did purchase new ink cartridges for my printer before we started and our designs came out crisp and true every time. The instructions were easy to follow, gave test sheets to try before printing your real animal and plenty of stuffing for all of them. My kids had a ball with these and I would definitely buy more.
My only negative comment is that you can't wash these or get them anywhere near water - the color will spot or run IMMEDIATELy.
