My Heart Box . My 7 y.o. received this kit as a b-day gift from a friend who knew that she loved crafts, as well as hearts. This was the PERFECT gift! It kept my daughter busy for hours, between the sanding, the painting and the glueing with the glitter, marbles and a few favorite pictures. The finished product is adorable and now my daughter keeps her "special" keepsakes in her heart box. She had so much fun doing this project for herself that she wanted to make another one and give it to her Grandma as a gift, for her to keep her special things in as well. Great kit to give as a gift as is, as a finished product or just for fun at home! Would also make a fun party idea...to do this as a craft, then the kids have a souvenier to take home with them (better than a party bag!)

Great Gift . My 8 year old received this as a birthday present. She absolutley loves it. Painting and decorating this kit kept her busy for hours and when she was finished she was very proud of her work. One of the things she really liked was that the paint dries quickly so it is easy to put on the next coat or to paint a design. She doesn't like having to wait for something to dry and I am happy not to have another half done project around the house. She now has a place to keep all of her special jewelery and whenever her friends come over she shows off the heart box. So many of her friends want one that we are now going to give it as a present. Great toy to buy as a gift or just for an activity for your own child.

Heart box . Very well made product and it kept my granddaughter hapoy and busy for quite a while. However, she ran out of paint for the main colours and larger pots of paint would be helpful

5 year old Grandson loves it . I got this for my 5 year old grandson for Christmas as we had seen a clock when out shopping that he wanted. He's very artistic, so I thought he would enjoy painting it, making his own design. He did and it looks perfect in his room. Having an analog display has also helped him learn to tell time.

Not For My Son . Bought this for my son whose 9 years old for Christmas thinking it would be a good genuine Santa gift for in his stocking (yes he's still believing) but he showed no interest. It seems well made and i think if he was a few years younger he may have showed more interest or if he was really into art but it just wasnt for him. I would attempt it again in the future for my other son once he's a little bigger.

The feeder doesn't fir bird feet . The kids had a wonderful time painting their birdfeeder. The most unfortunate and most important part is the birds can't eat from the feeder, there is not enough room for their tiny feet to stand ont he feeder.

At the cost paid for this.......it was really not worth it.

So cute and simple . My son made this for his grandparents 2 yrs. ago and it still hangs outside and looks great. They have watched birds come eat at it for years and it has been very exciting for my son to see his gift last. They live on a nature preserve so the birds are around all year long and it even holds up in the winter. Love that it is easy to make and they can do it on their own. He was 5 when he gave it to them.

My daughter loved it! . "Santa" brought this for our daughter this Christmas ... and it was a huge hit! She's only 7 -- and has shown amazing patience as she paints each layer. She's been working on it on and off for a month now -- and hopefully we'll have a finished product before next winter! Not as described in the advertisement . I purchased 3 of these for my children to paint during our craft time. They were so excited when I ordered them because the advertisement shows a secret compartment in the bottom of the chest. When we received them they were very disappointed that the product did not actually have a secret compartment. The product we received was in a different box than shown advertised on Amazon. I wasn't too upset at first thinking it was just an old picture but then I reread the description below and it even states that there is a secret compartment. I'll never get why companies don't fix their ads when they change their products but it demonstrates a lack of internal organization.One of the kits was missing the hinge rod but I was able to improvise using a small nail as the rod.They are very fragile so don't expect them to last very long.

5 year old LOVES this! . Our daughter wanted a nutcracker for Christmas, so we bought her this! She loved being able to paint it herself. It took several days (Ok, I stretched it out a bit, I admit it!) for her to be done. The first coat of paint went on nicely. Good paint does not need several coats. Then the next day, she got to paint details. Third day she got to add glitter paint, gems, and hair. It was so much fun to watch her as she begged to do it. The paint dries within an hour, so you could do it faster if you wanted.

Adding this to future christmas list for other kids.

A lot of fun my son loves his toy! . My son's birthday is on Christmas day (he is 5 y.o.) and every year I have to select number of very special gifts for him to celebrate both important events. Few months ago he asked me about Nutcracker toy, I was travelling to Germany then and saw one large nutcracker for 10 Euros, but the wood and construction quality were so poor that it would be proken within a day and the little boy would be very unhappy - it was sort of nutcracker you could out on the self but not use as a toy. Just 2 weeks before his birthday I came across this toy on Amazon and ordered it. It was a real hit when he unwrapped his Christmas/birthday presents on Christmas morning! All other toys were set aside, and the most excietement was that we had to paint the Nutcracker ourselves!! I have to admit, I was almost more excited than my sone and we did the job even before having our breakfast so anxious we were! :) Paints are very nice quality, they dry very quickly, have no chemical smell and are amsolutely safe. My son keeps sleeping with his Nutcracker and playting with it for a month already and it still is like new. Very, very happy with our purchase!
