Great little book . It was a great prize giveaway at my sons Birthday party. It was bigger than I thought, and the kid who won it loved it and started using it right away. It's neat how the colors run together, all the kids wanted to give it a try. I should have gotten more!

I think it's been opened and then stuck shut . The packaging is really disappointing. It's squashed, and it's taped shut, looking as though it has been opened by someone and then taped shut. This is a present, so I hope the pens work and haven't been used.

markers can be reconstituted . Ok, so I bought this because my kid loves, loves, loves ColorBlast. Myself, I was not super impressed. If I had not been informed elsewhere that the markers can be reconstituted with rubbing alcohol, I would have been pissed. Three out of four markers were completely dry, right out of the box. And yes, the black does smear, and the colors tend to muddy. That said, the kid just loves it, and will play independently for up to an hour, so for my money, that's the real test criteria. Three stars.[Edited 11/7/11]Well, two out of the three reconstituted markers had their tips shredded all to heck after one day of play. I was pretty annoyed, and filled out the feedback form at giddyup.com. Within one week, I received five replacement markers. So, while the item itself remains somewhat problematic, the cutomer service I received ws excellent.

Just Ok . I wasn't impressed with the product, the box it came in was more impressive than the product itself. There are a lot of pages to color with the magic markers, but the markers do not last long and a lot of the colors turn more of a brown than a real color. Not very pretty when they are finished. But, it does hold your child's attention, I just wasn't impressed.

Cons Review

Grandma . This product is completely faulty unless they shipped me one that was years old and completely dried up. None of the markers worked well even from the moment you took the cap off. My 2 year old grand daughter could not even get any color out of the markers. When I as an adult used all my strength to apply hard pressure to the marker pen, I still could not get any color out of every marker. Now I am left with all these great coloring pages and nothing to use as markers. This compnay owes me a refund or please send me new markers that will work and I will modify my review.

My 3 year old likes it . I bought this same set today at a bookstore. These are perfect for my 3 year old because he can't draw on anything but the paper. No surprise messes! The colors on the paper are actually pretty good, much better than color wonder markers that turn everything a muddy brown color, no matter which color marker you use. And I like that this set only has 1 marker, which makes it easier to grab and go. One down side to this set is you need to find something to put everything in once you open the box. It's a lot of loose papers and markers (at least the color wonder pages are in a spiral bound book.) The other downside is that I can definately see these markers drying out long before my son colors all the pages and you can't buy extra markers. I saw some other reviews where people complained about the smell of the markers. Honestly I didn't even notice a smell until I put my nose right up to the marker and then it was very mild.
